Mobile Toilet Disinfection

Admin September 21, 2026

The disinfection of mobile toilets requires a combination of physical and chemical methods, and specific plans should be determined based on usage frequency, environmental conditions, and hygiene standards.

I. Disinfection Methods

  1. Physical Disinfection Methods

    • High-Temperature Disinfection: Utilize high-temperature steam (usually >100°C) generated by a steam generator to spray on surfaces such as toilets and sinks. Continuous application for 3-5 minutes can kill bacteria and viruses. It is necessary to control the steam temperature and duration to avoid deformation or damage to the facilities.
    • Ultraviolet Disinfection: Turn on ultraviolet lamps (wavelength 200-280nm) during periods when the toilet is not in use to achieve broad-spectrum sterilization by destroying the DNA structure of microorganisms. Ensure that the exposure time is ≥30 minutes and avoid direct exposure of ultraviolet rays to the human body.
  2. Chemical Disinfection Methods

    • Chlorine-Based Disinfectants: Dilute disinfectants such as 84 disinfectant (common concentration 200-500mg/L) and spray on floors and walls. After 30 minutes of action, rinse with clean water. Suitable for comprehensive disinfection, but attention should be paid to corrosiveness.
    • Peracetic Acid: Dilute to a concentration of 0.2%-0.5% for wiping or spraying, suitable for high-risk environments (such as during epidemics). Wear protective clothing and avoid contact with skin and eyes.
    • Alcohol Disinfection: Use 75% alcohol to wipe high-frequency contact areas such as door handles and faucets, which evaporates quickly and leaves no residue. Keep away from fire sources and prohibit large-area spraying.

II. Disinfection Frequency

  1. High-Frequency Scenarios (such as large exhibitions, peak tourist seasons at scenic spots): Conduct comprehensive disinfection once a day (after work), and perform local disinfection (such as toilet seats and flush buttons) every 4-6 hours when the footfall is extremely high.
  2. Medium-Frequency Scenarios (such as daily use in parks, small construction sites): Conduct comprehensive disinfection once every 1-2 days, and increase local cleaning based on odors or stains during the period.
  3. Low-Frequency Scenarios (such as remote construction sites): Conduct comprehensive disinfection once a week, and implement closed management when idle to reduce bacterial growth.

III. Environmental and Special Requirements

  1. High-Temperature and High-Humidity Environments (such as outdoors in summer): Increase the frequency of cleaning and disinfection by 20%-30% compared to the常规 (normal) frequency.
  2. Special Environments (such as areas around hospitals, epidemic quarantine sites): Conduct comprehensive disinfection 2-3 times a day, using chlorine-based disinfectants or 75% alcohol.
  3. Hygiene Standards: Must comply with the "Hygiene Indicators and Limit Requirements for Public Places" (GB 37488-2019), with a bacterial count ≤300CFU/m³.

Precautions: Ensure that the toilet is unoccupied during disinfection, and ventilate for more than 30 minutes after the operation to reduce residual concentration.
