Disappearance of Mobile Toilets

Admin September 20, 2026

The disappearance of mobile toilets may occur in two scenarios: one is being legally moved by the urban management department, and the other is theft.

Legally Moved by the Urban Management Department

In some cases, although mobile toilets have obtained road occupation permits, operators may engage in unauthorized business activities beyond the permitted scope. For example, Mr. Zhang's mobile toilet contracted in Hejiadun, Changqing Road, Hankou, despite having a road occupation permit, was operated beyond its scope to include sideline businesses such as snacks and newspapers, which constitutes a disguised form of road occupation. The road occupation section of the urban management department has repeatedly advised and issued three notices for illegal road occupation, but the operator has not complied. In such cases, the urban management department has the authority to move the mobile toilet to a relatively remote location in accordance with relevant regulations. This is a legal measure taken by the urban management department to maintain urban order and regulate business operations, aiming to correct the operator's illegal road occupation behavior and ensure the rational use of public space.

Theft Cases

Mobile toilets may also become targets of theft by lawbreakers. For instance, in the case of the theft of a mobile toilet placed near the intersection of Tianmen Mountain Road and Longgang Road reported by Mr. Jiang, the suspect, Mr. Xia, along with two others, committed the theft on the evening of the 29th due to the inconvenience of having many family members needing to use the toilet at home. This act of theft seriously infringes upon the property rights of others and disrupts social order. Theft of mobile toilets not only causes economic losses to the owner but may also affect the normal usage needs of surrounding residents. Currently, for such theft cases, the public security organs will conduct investigations and handle them in accordance with the law to uphold social fairness, justice, and the dignity of the law.

When discovering the disappearance of a mobile toilet, one should first understand the relevant circumstances and determine whether it is a legal move by the urban management department or a case of theft. If it is theft, one should promptly report to the public security organs and cooperate with the police in the investigation to facilitate the swift recovery of the mobile toilet and safeguard one's legitimate rights and interests.
