Admin September 28, 2026

The Mobile Toilet Design Competition includes the 26th Geberit Public Toilet Design Competition, the Reinvent the Toilet Challenge China (RTTC - China), and the 2080 Future Public Toilet Design Competition, among others.

26th Geberit Public Toilet Design Competition: Organized jointly by Geberit, a Swiss sanitary ware manufacturer, and the Association of Polish Architects, this competition primarily targets students and young architects. The competition task focuses on designing public toilets near Jasne Błonia in Szczecin. Its core objective is to provide higher-quality alternatives to mobile toilets and container-style toilets, with improvements centered on two key aspects: usability and aesthetics. Through these design requirements, it aims to enhance the user experience of public toilets while enabling them to better integrate into the surrounding environment and become part of the urban landscape.

Reinvent the Toilet Challenge China (RTTC - China): This international competition is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in the United States and executed by the University of Science and Technology Beijing. The competition officially launched in August 2013 and lasted for two years. It is divided into two parts: the Innovation Competition and the Creative Competition. Driven by market-oriented research, it promotes innovative development in decentralized sanitary drainage systems. There are clear and strict requirements for competition proposals, which must possess characteristics such as resource utilization, low cost, and sustainability. This reflects the current societal emphasis on resource utilization and environmental protection in sanitary facilities, encouraging the innovation of toilet solutions that better align with sustainable development concepts.

2080 Future Public Toilet Design Competition: Hosted by Archmello, this competition encourages participants to fully unleash their innovative design capabilities to create barrier-free public toilets. Competition entries need to envision the design of public toilets in 2080, which means utilizing next-generation technologies and fully considering the needs and technological development trends of future society. At the same time, it emphasizes sustainable and barrier-free design concepts, aiming to provide more humanized and environmentally friendly public toilet facilities for future society to meet the usage needs of different groups of people.
