Mobile Toilet Construction Solution

Admin October 11, 2026

The construction of mobile toilets should be carried out in five stages—preparation, foundation treatment, main body installation, environmental protection measures, and acceptance and maintenance—based on the requirements of the specific scenario, with specifications adjusted accordingly.

I. Preparation and Site Selection

  1. Site Selection Principles: For construction sites, mobile toilets should be placed inside the living area, 30-50 meters away from dormitories and canteens, avoiding prevailing summer winds and high-risk work areas. In public activity areas, they should be at least 5 meters from shop entrances and 2 meters from main pedestrian pathways to ensure convenience without obstructing traffic. Additionally, confirm that there are no underground cables, gas pipelines, or main water supply lines to avoid damaging infrastructure.
  2. Materials and Equipment: The main structure is recommended to be an integrated steel frame with high-density polyethylene (HDPE) wall panels or color-steel sandwich panels, which are corrosion-resistant and have a fire rating of Class A. Auxiliary equipment includes a 25-ton truck crane, a small compactor, and water and electrical installation tools, with coordination required for their arrival time in advance.

II. Foundation Treatment and Construction

  1. Foundation Leveling: Clear the topsoil and gravel, then compact the foundation soil to a compaction degree of ≥90%. Pour a C20 or C30 concrete cushion with a thickness of 10-15 cm, extending 30 cm beyond the toilet's base outline on all sides. Reserve a 2%-3% drainage slope towards the catch basin on the sewage outlet side.
  2. Special Scenario Treatment: For renovation of old floors, compact the plain soil in layers to a compaction degree of ≥95%, then pour the concrete cushion. For temporary sites, prefabricated reinforced concrete slabs or steel road base plates can be used, locked together with connecting fasteners.

III. Main Body Installation and System Connection

  1. Lifting and Fixing: Use a crane or forklift to position the toilet unit, adjusting the levelness with a spirit level. For mobile public toilets in public areas, anchor bolts should be embedded with an error of ≤1 cm.
  2. Functional Module Connection: The water tank and sewage tank form an independent circulation system through pipes, with the water tank driving a pump for flushing. The sewage system should be selected based on the scenario—either a water-flush or vacuum system—to ensure regular waste removal.

IV. Environmental Protection and Leak Prevention Measures

  1. Seepage Prevention: Smooth and polish the surface of the concrete cushion to prevent rainwater backflow and rodent burrowing. The sewage tank should be sealed to prevent odor diffusion.
  2. Ventilation and Shading: In hot weather, install shading canopies or cooling equipment. The recommended toilet ratio is 1:1.2 (including accessible restrooms). Orientation should avoid prevailing winds, with walls or barriers used for visual screening.

V. Acceptance and Maintenance Management

  1. Completion Acceptance: Test the water and electrical systems, ventilation equipment, and door operation smoothness. Confirm that the sewage tank capacity (e.g., 350m³) meets usage requirements.
  2. Daily Maintenance: Regularly clean the sewage tank and replenish consumables such as toilet paper and hand soap. Assign dedicated personnel for inspections to ensure no damage or odors.

Scenario-Based Adaptation Recommendations: For large events, allocate one mobile public toilet per 500 people, with a distance of no more than 300 meters, and place guiding signs at entrances. For construction projects, locate near the workers' living area with a walking distance of ≤200 meters, equipped with handwashing stations and simple lighting. For scenic area expansions, adopt a modular design that blends with the scenic style for quick assembly and mobility.
