How to Ensure Safety in Mobile Toilet Construction

Admin October 05, 2026

Ensuring safety in mobile toilet construction requires comprehensive measures covering personnel, hazard sources, and work procedures. Specific measures are as follows:

I. Personnel Safety Assurance

  1. Protective Equipment and Health Management: Operators must wear safety helmets, non-slip shoes, and reflective vests. For high-altitude work, double-hook safety harnesses must be used and securely anchored. Working under the influence of alcohol, fatigue, or illness is strictly prohibited. A daily safety morning meeting should be held before work to identify risk points and obtain signatures for confirmation. Specialized operators (such as electricians and welders) must hold relevant certificates. An on-site first-aid kit should be available, and operators should possess basic first-aid knowledge.
  2. Environmental Adaptability Measures: During summer, avoid high-temperature periods (11:00-15:00), set up sunshades, and provide salted drinking water. In winter, wear warm and non-slip equipment, clear snow from scaffolding, and lay non-slip mats. Individuals with occupational contraindications such as hypertension or heart disease should not engage in high-altitude or heavy physical work.

II. Prevention and Control of Construction Hazards

  1. High-Altitude Falls: When hoisting or installing at the top, set up 1.2-meter-high protective railings at the edge of the work surface and pull warning tapes below.
  2. Object Strikes: Store tools and materials in tool bags and prohibit throwing. Set up warning zones below the work area and hang “No Entry” signs.
  3. Electric Shock Risk: Adopt the TN-S neutral protection system for temporary electricity use. Install leakage protectors (with an operating current ≤ 30mA) in distribution boxes. Protect cables by laying them overhead or through pipes.
  4. Mechanical Injuries: When using cutting machines, electric drills, and other equipment, wear goggles. Install protective covers on transmission parts and assign dedicated operators for supervision.
  5. Fire Risk: Equip the site with two 4kg dry powder fire extinguishers. Obtain hot work permits for hot work operations, clear flammable materials, and assign dedicated personnel for fire watching.
  6. Collapse Risk: When excavating foundation pits exceeding 1.5 meters, implement sloping or shoring. Keep the distance between piled soil and the pit edge ≥ 1 meter and the height ≤ 1.5 meters.
  7. Poisoning and Asphyxiation: Maintain ventilation when applying waterproof coatings inside the toilet. Operators should wear gas masks and install forced ventilation devices.
  8. Vehicle Injuries: Material transport vehicles should be directed by dedicated personnel, with a speed limit of ≤ 5km/h and honking when turning.

III. Safe Operation of Key Work Procedures

  1. Foundation Construction: Before excavating foundation pits, identify underground pipelines and avoid them during manual excavation. Ensure that the power cord of the vibrator is intact during concrete pouring, and operators should wear insulating gloves. Set up warning fences during the curing period.
  2. Main Body Installation: Use a crane with a rated load capacity ≥ 5 tons for hoisting. Set up preset lifting eyes at lifting points and prohibit single-point lifting. Use dedicated connectors for multi-unit splicing and check the verticality after completing each unit. When installing doors and windows, two people should cooperate to handle the glass, and protect the edges and corners with protective film.
  3. Pipeline Installation: Check pipes for cracks or deformation before connection. During hot-melt welding, operators should wear protective gloves and goggles and stay away from flammable materials. When pressure testing, slowly increase the pressure, assign dedicated personnel to observe the pressure gauge, and immediately release pressure in case of leakage.
  4. Electrical Installation: Install distribution boxes at a height of 1.4-1.6 meters, equip them with locks, and label them with the responsible person's information.
