Mobile Toilet Construction Process

Admin October 08, 2026

The construction process of mobile toilets varies depending on the design type, mainly divided into two categories: those transformed from water storage barrels/tanks and those assembled from finished products. The specific processes are as follows:

I. Construction Process of Mobile Toilets Transformed from Water Storage Barrels/Tanks

  1. Basic Structure Construction

    • Tank Treatment: Split the water storage barrel or tank longitudinally in the middle, or cut the top to form an open tank. Fix universal wheels at the bottom to enable mobility, and ensure the tank bottom is flat to support subsequent structures.
    • Height Adjustment: If an increase in the toilet's internal height is required, reinforce the tank edges with wooden strips or metal brackets to form the basic framework for the walls.
  2. Wall and Roof Installation

    • Wall Construction: Fix plastic soft panels, waterproof cloth, or lightweight panels as wall materials on the wooden strip framework. Some designs adopt the method of stacking two open water storage tanks, securing the outer frame with self-tapping screws to form a double-layer structure.
    • Roof Design: Invert the upper part of the water storage barrel to serve as the roof, or cover the top with lightweight metal or plastic panels. The roof should have a drainage slope to prevent water accumulation.
  3. Functional Component Installation

    • Drainage System: Drill holes at the bottom of the tank to install drainage pipes, forming a floor drain structure, and connect to the toilet and fix the water tank. Some designs require cutting holes in the tank's internal floor, installing elbows and pipes, and then sealing them to ensure smooth sewage discharge.
    • Water Supply System: Connect the roof water storage device via pipes to the bathroom heater, showerhead, or sink. The walls can be used to secure the pipes with clips and install faucets. The sink's drainage pipe needs to be connected to the tank's bottom drainage system.
    • Door Construction: Install the door with wooden boards and hinges, adding a door handle; or use foam strips to拼接 (assemble) honeycomb wooden boards to make a simple door, ensuring tightness and durability.

II. Installation Process of Finished Mobile Toilets

  1. Component Assembly
    • Modular Assembly: Assemble prefabricated columns, walls, roofs, and other components by snapping or bolting them together, eliminating the need for civil engineering work throughout the process. Some designs adopt a foldable structure for easy transportation and rapid deployment.
  2. Detail Handling
    • Seal Check: Ensure that each snap-fit is tight to prevent rainwater leakage or odor diffusion.
    • Function Testing: After installation, test the drainage, water supply, lighting, and other systems to confirm they are fault-free before putting them into use.

III. Supplementary Information

Mobile toilets can be classified in various ways: by structural form, they can be divided into single-unit structures (independent units) and composite structures (multi-unit combinations); by mobility, they can be divided into hoisting types (requiring lifting equipment) and powered towing types (tractable for movement); and by sewage treatment methods, they can be divided into water-flush types, waterless suction types (relying on vacuum pumps), and circulating water-flush types (where sewage is purified and reused). When designing, the appropriate type should be selected based on the usage scenario, budget, and environmental protection requirements.
