Practical Guide to Building a Mobile Toilet

Admin October 12, 2026

The practical guide to building a mobile toilet mainly includes two methods: using a water storage tank and using discarded tiles. Details are as follows:

Building a Mobile Toilet Using a Water Storage Tank

  1. Basic Structure Construction
    • Water Storage Tank Processing: Use an angle grinder to split the water storage tank in half to provide basic materials for subsequent construction.
    • Mobile Device Installation: Fix universal wheels at the four corners of a wooden board to facilitate the movement of the entire toilet.
    • Height and Entrance Setting: Attach wooden strips to the upper side of the tank with self-tapping screws to increase height. Cut an entrance on the side of the water storage tank for easy access.
    • Door Frame and Wall Construction: Install sponge strips on both sides of the entrance to form a door frame. Embed plastic soft boards to create raised walls for some privacy.
    • Roof Setting: Place the upper half of the water storage tank on top of the wooden strips to form a roof. Apply white waterproof paint to the wooden strips to enhance aesthetics and prevent moisture damage.
  2. Indoor Device Installation
    • Drainage System Setup: Use a hole-cutting tool to create a hole at the bottom of the tank and install a drainage pipe to form a floor drain. Cut holes on the side to connect direct fittings, and install another direct fitting at the bottom to ensure smooth drainage.
    • Water Storage and Bathing Device Installation: Place a plastic bucket on the roof to form a small water storage device. Connect a water pipe-made bath heater. Install a three-way fitting below the inlet pipe and connect a showerhead to meet bathing needs.
    • Toilet Installation: Place the toilet on the drainage pipe opening, install the water tank, and secure the toilet with glass glue to ensure stability.
    • Overall Drainage Connection: Connect the drainage pipe to the sewage tank. Horizontally connect a water pipe from the three-way fitting of the outlet pipe to the entrance as the inlet pipe for the sink. Connect external fittings and hoses, drill a hole in the door to install a fitting, and complete the entire drainage system.

Building a Mobile Toilet Using Discarded Tiles

  1. Base Construction
    • Tile Cutting: Place the toilet on the tile and draw a red marking line along the edge of the toilet. Move the toilet away and use an angle grinder to cut out a rectangular tile piece slightly larger than the bottom of the toilet along the marking line.
    • Universal Wheel Installation: Turn the rectangular tile over and place universal wheels at the four corners. Mark the points with a marker, drill screw holes with an electric drill, insert screw rods, and tighten nuts to fix the universal wheels. Finally, use an angle grinder to cut off the protruding screw rods on the back of the tile.
  2. Toilet Installation: Place the toilet back on the tile, draw a marking line along the edge, mark the position of the sewage outlet at the bottom of the toilet connecting to the drainage, insert a hose from the bottom of the tile and fix one end. Apply white cement along the marking line on the tile and place the toilet according to the marking line to make it adhere firmly to the tile.
  3. Overall Assembly: Move the toilet with the installed base to the bathroom. Install the water tank above the toilet, tighten the plastic fixing parts to secure it, cover the water tank lid, install the toilet seat, put the sewage hose into the drainage pipe, and connect the inlet pipe to the water tank.
