How to Construct Mobile Toilets

Admin September 21, 2026

The construction methods for mobile toilets mainly include using water storage barrels or tanks, installing pre-fabricated units, and constructing based on structural forms and mobility types.

When constructing a mobile toilet using a water storage barrel or tank, the first step is to split or cut the barrel or tank in half or create an opening to provide space for installing sanitary facilities. Next, fix universal wheels at the four corners of a wooden board to ensure the toilet can be easily moved. Then, use wooden strips and self-tapping screws to increase the height of the barrel or tank and construct door frames and walls to provide basic structural support for the toilet. Open a door on the side of the barrel or tank and install a door frame and door to ensure privacy and convenience of use. At the same time, drill a hole at the bottom of the barrel or tank, install a drain pipe to form a floor drain, and connect it to a toilet and other sanitary facilities to ensure the smooth discharge of waste. Finally, install facilities such as a water tank, shower, and washbasin, and perform fixation and sealing treatments to make the toilet fully functional.

The installation method for pre-fabricated units is even simpler, requiring no civil engineering work. The pre-fabricated unit can be used immediately after installation. Mobile toilets of this type are usually composed of a pile of parts on the ground, fixed through columns and splicing, similar to assembling building blocks, which greatly saves installation time and labor costs.

In addition, mobile toilets can also be constructed based on structural forms and mobility types. According to structural forms, they can be divided into single-structure mobile toilets and composite-structure mobile toilets. Single-structure mobile toilets have a simple structure and are easy to move and install; composite-structure mobile toilets have stronger stability and durability, suitable for long-term use. According to mobility types, they can be divided into lifting and handling mobile toilets and powered and towed mobile toilets. Lifting and handling mobile toilets are suitable for occasions that require frequent movement; powered and towed mobile toilets have stronger mobility and can be towed by vehicles, suitable for long-distance movement.
