How to Build a Mobile Toilet

Admin October 11, 2026

There are two common methods for building a mobile toilet: using a water storage tank and a pallet, and using a water storage bucket. Additionally, mobile toilets can be classified according to different criteria.

Building with a Water Storage Tank and Pallet

First, fix universal wheels at each of the four corners at the bottom of the pallet for easy mobility. Then, place a water storage tank and cut its top to form an open tank. Stack two open-top water storage tanks and secure them with self-tapping screws. Next, cut a rectangular opening as the door, drill a hole in the interior floor, and install a drain elbow and pipe to ensure smooth sewage discharge. Secure the toilet and apply sealant to prevent leaks. Install faucets, a sink, and a showerhead to meet daily needs. Finally, make a door using wooden boards and hinges, and install a door handle to ensure privacy.

Building with a Water Storage Bucket

Split the water storage bucket in half lengthwise and fix universal wheels at the four corners of a wooden board. Use wooden strips and self-tapping screws to increase the height of the bucket, and cut an opening on the side as the door. Install sponge strips to form a door frame and embed plastic soft boards to create walls for some privacy and protection. Place the upper half of the water storage bucket as the roof and apply waterproof paint to the wooden strips for both waterproofing and aesthetic enhancement. Drill a hole at the bottom to install a drainpipe as a floor drain, and cut a hole on the side to connect a direct joint for easy drainage. Install a bathroom heater, toilet, and water tank, and secure the drainpipe to the sewage bucket to ensure normal toilet use. Extend the water pipe to the door as the sink's water inlet pipe, and drill a hole in the door to install a joint for convenient handwashing.

Classification of Mobile Toilets

Mobile toilets can be classified by structural form into single-structure and composite-structure mobile toilets. Single-structure toilets are relatively independent, while composite-structure toilets may consist of multiple parts. By mobility method, they can be divided into lifting/handling mobile toilets and powered/trailer-mounted mobile toilets, with different mobility methods suitable for various scenarios and needs. By sewage treatment method, they can be categorized as water-flush and non-water-flush suction mobile toilets, and circulating water-flush mobile toilets, reflecting different environmental protection and sanitation treatment concepts.
