How to Build a Mobile Toilet
Admin October 11, 2026
There are various ways to build a mobile toilet. Below are two specific examples and general classification information.

Building a Mobile Toilet Using a Water Storage Tank
- Basic Modification: Use an angle grinder to split the water storage tank in half lengthwise, serving as the main structure of the toilet. Fix universal wheels at the four corners of a wooden board for easy overall movement. Secure wooden strips and self-tapping screws to the upper side of the tank to increase height for accommodating toilet facilities.
- Wall and Roof Construction: Create an opening on the side of the water storage tank for the door. Install sponge strips to form the door frame and embed plastic soft panels to create raised walls. Place the upper half of the water storage tank on top of the wooden strips as the roof, and apply white waterproof paint to enhance aesthetics and waterproofing.
- Internal Facility Installation: Use foam strips to拼接 (assemble) discarded honeycomb wooden boards to make a simple door. Create a floor drain by cutting a hole at the bottom of the tank and installing a drainage pipe. Cut holes on the side and bottom of a plastic bucket to connect direct fittings, and place the plastic bucket on the roof as a small water storage device, connecting it to a water pipe-made shower heater. Install a three-way fitting below the water inlet pipe and connect a showerhead. Place a toilet and install a water tank, securing the toilet with glass glue to ensure a tight seal. Connect the drainage pipe to a sewage tank, and extend a water pipe horizontally from the three-way fitting on the outlet pipe to the doorway as the water inlet pipe for the sink. Cut a hole in the door to install a fitting.
Solar-Powered Mobile Toilet
Although the detailed construction process is not described, it can be inferred that the core lies in integrating a solar power supply system to provide energy for lighting, ventilation, or heating equipment, while combining it with the basic structure of a mobile toilet to achieve a balance between environmental protection and convenience.
Classification of Mobile Toilets
- By Structural Form: Divided into single-unit mobile toilets (independent units suitable for small-scale use) and composite-structure mobile toilets (multiple units combined, offering more comprehensive functions).
- By Mobility Method: Divided into hoisting and handling mobile toilets (relying on mechanical handling) and powered and trailer-mounted mobile toilets (equipped with their own power or towable for movement).
- By Sewage Treatment Method: Divided into water-flush and waterless suction mobile toilets (relying on water sources or regular suction for sewage removal) and circulating water-flush mobile toilets (using a filtration system to recycle water, saving water resources).
