Mobile Toilet Being Towed Away
Admin October 08, 2026
There have been reports of incidents where mobile toilets were towed away while in use, exposing issues in the management and design of mobile toilets.

Incident Overview
Several incidents have been reported where women were using mobile toilets that were subsequently towed away. For example, in an incident in Hebei, a woman entered a mobile toilet for convenience. The toilet, equipped with wheels underneath, was inadvertently towed onto the highway by the driver who failed to notice someone was inside. Additionally, videos uploaded by netizens show workers placing portable toilets in front of trailers. When a woman emerged from the toilet, the surrounding traffic was heavy, creating a dangerous situation.
Management Issues
- Lack of Pre-Use Inspection: There is a lack of effective inspection mechanisms to check whether the toilet is occupied or its overall condition before it is put into use. Drivers or relevant operators do not confirm whether there is anyone inside the toilet before towing it, leading to accidental towing of occupied toilets and posing significant safety risks to users.
- Chaotic On-Site Management: As seen in videos uploaded by netizens, there is a lack of effective management and guidance at the placement and use sites of mobile toilets. Workers casually place portable toilets in front of trailers without considering the safety of surrounding vehicles and personnel, nor do they set up obvious warning signs, putting users at risk when entering and exiting the toilets.
Design Issues
- Lack of Safety Warning Devices: The design of mobile toilets does not take into account the safety of users during use. There are no corresponding safety warning devices, such as occupancy indicator lights or sound alarms. When the toilet is being towed, users cannot be promptly alerted, nor can external operators be informed that someone is inside the toilet.
- Insufficient Structural Stability: Some mobile toilets have wheels at the bottom for easy movement, but their design and use do not fully consider structural stability. During towing, the toilets are prone to shaking, tilting, or even tipping over, increasing safety risks for users.
