How to Apply for a Mobile Toilet

Admin September 24, 2026

The application process for a mobile toilet varies depending on the usage scenario, mainly divided into two categories: outdoor public area applications and indoor residential applications.

I. Application Process for Outdoor Public Areas

  1. Understand the Regulations
    Applications must be submitted through the local urban management, environmental sanitation, or real estate administrative authorities. First, it is necessary to thoroughly understand the local regulations regarding the installation of mobile toilets, including the installation location, quantity, maintenance requirements, etc., to ensure that the application complies with policy requirements.

  2. Submit the Application
    Submit a written application to the management department or professional service provider, clearly providing information such as the installation location, expected duration of use, type and specifications, and a detailed explanation of the reasons and purpose for installation (e.g., temporary events, public area facilities, etc.). Some regions may require a site plan or rendering.

  3. Review and Installation
    The management department will conduct an on-site inspection to review the reasonableness of the application. Upon approval, the applicant must complete the installation as instructed and sign a maintenance responsibility agreement. After installation, regular cleaning and maintenance are required, and compliance with usage time and method regulations must be observed to avoid affecting the public environment.

II. Application Process for Indoor Residences

  1. Submit a Preliminary Application
    Applications must be submitted to the real estate administrative authority where the property is located, and the property management enterprise or housing management agency must be notified simultaneously. Some regions require a written application form to be submitted first, clearly stating the intention of renovation.

  2. Prepare Materials
    The following materials must be submitted:

  • Property ownership certificate and applicant's identification documents;
  • Renovation plan (clearly specifying the location, structure, and drainage design of the mobile toilet);
  • If structural changes to the building or load-bearing elements are involved, a design plan from the original design unit or a qualified design unit must be submitted;
  • If a company is commissioned for construction, a copy of the company's qualification certificate must be provided.
  1. Review and Approval
    Relevant departments will review the completeness of the materials and the compliance of the plan, focusing on checking for violations of the following regulations:
  • Prohibition of structural changes to the building or load-bearing elements without a design plan;
  • Prohibition of converting rooms or balconies without waterproofing requirements into bathrooms;
  • Prohibition of enlarging existing doors and windows on load-bearing walls or removing walls connecting to balconies.
    Upon approval, a permit document will be issued, and the applicant may proceed with construction.

Precautions

  • If the application is not approved, the plan must be revised, additional materials submitted, or an appeal filed based on the feedback.
  • Indoor installation must strictly comply with building safety regulations to avoid damaging the structural stability of the building.
  • Outdoor public area applications must pay attention to environmental protection requirements, such as sewage discharge treatment methods.
