How to Use Mobile Toilets and Showers

Admin October 02, 2026

The use of mobile toilets and showers depends on the specific type. Here are detailed steps:

I. How to Use Mobile Toilets

  1. Wilderness Pit-Style

    • Site Selection and Pit Digging: In secluded camping areas where digging is permitted, choose a location away from water sources and trails. Use a shovel to dig a pit about 30 centimeters deep and trim the footing area for stable standing.
    • Fixing the Toilet Tent: Fix the toilet tent (such as a tent-style enclosure) above the pit to ensure privacy and wind resistance.
    • Usage and Cleanup: After use, cover the waste with soil to avoid exposure. When breaking camp, fill in the pit and sprinkle sulfur powder to repel insects and prevent environmental pollution.
  2. Folding Toilet Combination Style

    • Assembling the Equipment: Lay out the folding toilet at the campsite, insert a dedicated garbage bag, and add fecal solidifying agent (which reduces odor and facilitates packing).
    • Usage and Disposal: After use, clean the toilet surface, seal the garbage bag, and take it away. Dispose of the waste according to local waste classification requirements.

II. How to Use Mobile Showers (Taking a mobile shower unit as an example)

  1. Environment Preparation

    • Choose a flat, dry ground to ensure equipment stability. Position it near a water source (such as a faucet) and a power outlet (with a ground wire), leaving enough operating space.
  2. Connecting the Equipment

    • Water Inlet: Connect the water inlet pipe of the shower unit to the faucet, ensuring a tight connection without leaks.
    • Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a three-pronged outlet with a ground wire to avoid the risk of electric shock.
  3. Water Filling and Heating

    • After turning on the unit, it will automatically fill with water (or manually press the 'water filling' button) until the water tank is 2/3 to 3/4 full (to avoid overflow).
    • Set the water temperature (recommended 45°C-50°C), press the 'heating' button to start, and the heating time is about 10-20 minutes (depending on the equipment's power).
  4. Shower Operation

    • After heating is complete, open the pressurized shower switch and adjust the water flow intensity. After use, turn off the shower and power to avoid damaging the equipment due to dry burning.

III. Combined Mobile Toilet and Shower Units

Some products (such as kiosk-style units) integrate toilet and shower functions, equipped with facilities like warm air blowers and showers. When using:

  • Installation Inspection: Ensure the equipment is firmly fixed and the water and electricity connections are normal.
  • Function Switching: Select the toilet or shower mode according to needs. Some products require adjustment via a control panel.

IV. General Precautions

  • Hygiene and Environmental Protection: Mobile toilets should be cleaned promptly to avoid contaminating soil or water sources. Prevent water from splashing onto the equipment body during showers to extend its service life.
  • Electrical Safety: Shower equipment must be grounded to avoid touching the power source in humid environments. Unplug the cord after use.
  • Water Temperature Control: It is recommended to test the water temperature before the first use to prevent scalding. In winter, the heating temperature can be appropriately increased to compensate for heat loss.
