Mobile Toilet and Septic Tank Installation

Admin October 10, 2026

The installation of mobile toilets and septic tanks must follow standardized procedures, with specific steps outlined as follows:

I. Preliminary Preparations

  1. Confirm Installation Location: Choose an area with higher elevation and smooth drainage. Ensure a distance of approximately 1.5 meters between the septic tank and the main body of the mobile toilet to prevent sewage backflow or odor diffusion.
  2. Inspect Tools and Materials: Prepare tools such as shovels, tape measures, and wrenches. Verify that the specifications of PVC pipes, elbows, and sealing rings match the equipment to prevent leakage due to improper connections.
  3. Communicate with Property Management: Notify the property management in advance of the installation plan to avoid damaging existing underground pipes or greenery and ensure compliance with community management regulations.

II. Septic Tank Excavation and Positioning

  1. Excavate the Foundation Pit: Determine the size of the septic tank based on the model of the mobile toilet. Typically, excavate to a depth of about 1.2 meters, with a diameter 20 centimeters larger than the main body of the septic tank to allow space for backfilling and securing.
  2. Lay the Sub-base: Lay a 10-centimeter-thick layer of gravel at the bottom of the foundation pit and compact it to ensure the septic tank is placed stably and to prevent equipment tilting or pipe breakage due to foundation settlement.
  3. Calibrate Levelness: Use a level to adjust the height of the septic tank's inlet and outlet to ensure alignment with ground pipes and prevent drainage issues or backflow due to height differences.

III. Pipe Connection Installation Process

  1. Seal Connections: Align PVC pipes with the septic tank's inlet and outlet, seal them with sealing rings, and secure the connections with specialized glue to ensure a firm, leak-free connection.
  2. Install Anti-backflow Valves: Install anti-backflow valves at pipe connections to prevent odors or sewage from the septic tank from flowing back into the mobile toilet through the pipes.
  3. Secure Pipes: Use concrete or bricks to secure the direction of the pipes to prevent displacement or breakage due to trampling or external forces, which could affect drainage efficiency.

IV. Backfilling and Commissioning

  1. Layered Backfilling: First, backfill gravel to a height of 5 centimeters above the pipes, then compact layers of loam to avoid direct backfilling with hard objects that could damage the pipes or cause settlement.
  2. Drainage Test: Open the inlet valve and observe whether the drainage is smooth. Check for any leakage points at the connections and promptly repair any issues.
  3. Empty Impurities: Before the first use after installation, empty any impurities from the septic tank to prevent pipe blockage or affect the normal operation of the equipment.

V. Precautions

  1. Regular Maintenance: It is recommended to inspect the pipe sealability quarterly and clean the sediment in the septic tank to prevent blockage or corrosion due to long-term accumulation.
  2. Winter Freeze Protection: Wrap insulation cotton around the pipes to prevent pipe freezing and cracking due to low temperatures, which could affect normal use.
  3. Compliant Installation: Ensure that the connected pipes comply with local environmental protection requirements to prevent direct sewage discharge from polluting the environment. Apply for relevant approval procedures if necessary.
