Mobile Toilet Aging Renovation Plan
Admin October 06, 2026
The aging renovation of mobile toilets should be carried out in two categories—general scenarios and age-friendly scenarios—based on the requirements of the scenario and the degree of aging, while adhering to the three principles of cost-effectiveness, adaptability, and durability. The specific plan is as follows:

I. General Scenario Renovation (Construction Sites, Emergency Disaster Relief, etc.)
Preliminary Investigation and Parameter Verification
- Measure the thickness of the compartment wall panels, the distribution of load-bearing joists, and the flatness of the ground base. Confirm the locations of water supply and drainage connections, as well as the load capacity of external power sources. Mark the ranges of embedded circuits and insulation layers.
- Adjust the renovation priorities based on the requirements of the scenario: for example, construction sites require wear-resistant and easy-to-clean materials, scenic spots need to balance aesthetics with passenger flow capacity, and northern regions need to check for frost heave risks.
- Identify existing faults: mark the locations of damaged waterproof layers, blocked or corroded pipelines, and the damage rate of sanitary fixtures, creating a detailed log with centimeter-level precision.
Basic Waterproofing and Ground System Upgrade
- Remove damaged sanitary fixtures and aging floor materials down to the base compartment panels. Fill gaps with single-component polyurethane sealant and apply a 15-centimeter-wide polyester fabric anti-crack reinforcement layer at the joints between wall panels and the ground.
- Apply a 2-millimeter-thick hand-applied polyurea waterproof coating. The waterproof layer on the walls of the shower area should extend upward by 1.8 meters, while other areas should extend upward by 30 centimeters. After drying, conduct a 24-hour water closure test.
- Lay lightweight floor materials, ensuring the load-bearing threshold is within 50 kilograms per square meter to avoid structural deformation due to overloading.
II. Age-Friendly Scenario Renovation (Elderly Apartments or Home Bathrooms)
Entrance and Passageway Optimization
- The clear width of the doorway should be no less than 900 millimeters. Use sliding or single-fold doors to reduce space occupation. The entrance floor should be slip-resistant and equipped with rounded hand-touch points to reduce the risk of tripping for the elderly.
Equipment and Material Upgrades
- Set the height of the toilet at 450-500 millimeters, with the option of an adjustable-height toilet seat. Install horizontal handrails on both sides at a height of 650-750 millimeters to facilitate the elderly in getting up.
- Select wear-resistant and slip-resistant tiles for the floor. The slip-resistance level should cover wet areas. Install micro-slope drainage and anti-pinch floor drains. The shower area should adopt a threshold-free or low-threshold design, with a floor slope of no more than 2% to avoid water accumulation.
Safety Assistance Systems
- Install emergency call systems to cover key areas. Use lighting with rounded, easy-to-operate buttons to avoid damage from strong grasping.
- The lifting toilet can assist in sitting and standing, featuring slow lifting and lowering, handrail support, and abnormal protection functions. The operating noise should be below the standard for nighttime use.
III. Renovation Principles
- Cost and Structural Control: Do not damage the original main load-bearing structure. Use lightweight construction methods and prioritize replacement-type installations (such as lifting toilets that do not require wall removal or plumbing modifications).
- All-Scenario Adaptability: Adjust renovation priorities based on usage frequency (such as high-frequency use at construction sites), climatic conditions (such as frost prevention in northern regions), and population characteristics (such as barrier-free access for the elderly).
- Long-Term Durability: Select materials that are stain-resistant, corrosion-resistant, and easy to clean. Regularly inspect the tightness of load-bearing components such as handrails and toilet seats to extend the service life.
