Mobile Security Reports Toilet Water Connection

Admin October 05, 2026

In this incident, the security guard initially reported that the mobile service hall was using toilet tap water for drinking, but later claimed the content was incorrect due to emotional issues. Currently, relevant departments have stated that it is not within their jurisdiction.

Initial Report of the Incident

On March 20, a security guard at a China Mobile service hall in Jinhua, Zhejiang, reported that there was an issue with the bottled mineral water in the hall. The security guard claimed that the water in the water dispenser's barrel was sourced from the toilet's tap water pipe and that the water had turned green and smelly, yet it was still being served to customers. If this report were true, it would seriously affect the health and safety of customers. Although tap water itself meets the standards for drinking water, the toilet's tap water pipe is constantly in a relatively humid environment that may be contaminated, and its water quality may be polluted by microorganisms such as bacteria and viruses. Moreover, the green and smelly water indicates that a large number of microorganisms such as algae may have grown in it. If such water is consumed without disinfection, it can easily lead to health issues such as intestinal diseases.

Subsequent Statement by the Security Guard

On March 22, the security guard involved, Mr. Fang, told Zonglan News that due to emotional issues, the content of the video he posted on the 20th was incorrect, and his work had now resumed. Mr. Fang posted a video on his short-video account, stating that after reviewing the content of his post about the drinking water in the mobile service hall on March 20, he found that the claims about tap water connection were incorrect. This indicates that there may have been inaccuracies in the initial report, but Mr. Fang did not specify which aspects were incorrect.

Response from Relevant Departments

The local police stated that the Health Bureau was handling the matter. However, a staff member from the Yiwu Health Bureau said she was unaware of the incident and that it was not within the bureau's management scope. The Yiwu Market Supervision Administration also stated that the matter was not under its jurisdiction. This reflects that during the incident handling process, there may be a lack of clarity in job responsibilities, leading to disputes among relevant departments over the jurisdiction of the incident, which may also affect the progress of further investigation and handling of the incident.
