Mobile Sanitary Toilet Room

Admin October 08, 2026

A mobile sanitary toilet room is a facility that can be moved as a whole, providing toilet services to the public or customers. It has the advantages of being movable, combinable, and easy to transport.

Construction and Materials

Mobile toilets are generally composed of fecal sewage storage tanks (or fecal sewage treatment devices), floor slabs, sanitary ware, walls, washing equipment, water tanks, roofs, and mobile devices. Their construction and materials have undergone development and changes. Initially, they were made of materials such as wood, with simple construction and functions, and were prone to absorbing odors. Later, they gradually evolved to use materials such as fiberglass and polyethylene, which are more durable and can effectively reduce odors.

Classification Methods

  • By structural form: They can be divided into single-structure mobile toilets and composite-structure mobile toilets. Single-structure toilets are relatively simple and independent, while composite-structure toilets may be composed of multiple parts and have more complex and diverse functions.
  • By mobility method: They are classified into lifting and handling-type mobile toilets and powered and trailer-type mobile toilets. Lifting and handling-type toilets are suitable for short-distance movement, while powered and trailer-type toilets can be transported over longer distances with the help of vehicles.
  • By sewage treatment method: They are divided into water-flush and waterless-flush suction-type mobile toilets, circulating water-flush mobile toilets, and dry-packing mobile toilets. Water-flush toilets have better cleaning effects but require a water source; waterless-flush suction-type toilets use suction equipment to treat feces; circulating water-flush toilets can recycle water, saving water resources; and dry-packing toilets pack feces for treatment without the need for water.

Application Scenarios

It originated from the temporary and periodic needs for toilets in certain situations. Due to the shortage and unreasonable layout of public toilets in cities, the government has placed mobile public toilets in areas where it is relatively difficult to build fixed public toilets to make up for the deficiencies in the quantity and layout of public toilets. For example, in 2023, mobile toilets were gradually installed and put into use in the scenic area along the Yellow River in Lanzhou. In addition, some individuals have also made their own movable toilets using materials such as water storage tanks, pallets, and buckets to meet their special needs.
