Mobile Public Toilet
A mobile public toilet is a facility that can be moved as a whole and provides toilet services to the public. It is suitable for various places and comes with multiple structural, mobility, sewage treatment methods, and design options for appearance and functionality.

Suitable Locations
Mobile public toilets are suitable for stations, docks, tourist attractions, villa areas, newly built residential communities, large construction sites, squares, densely populated public places, and bustling commercial streets. These locations usually have a high volume of foot traffic, with a concentrated and possibly temporary demand for toilet facilities. Mobile public toilets can be flexibly placed to meet usage requirements in different scenarios.
Structural Components
They are generally composed of a fecal sewage storage tank (or fecal sewage treatment device), floor slab, sanitary ware, walls, washing equipment, water tank, roof, and mobility device. These components work together to ensure the mobile public toilet functions properly. For example, the fecal sewage storage tank is used to collect and treat excreta, the sanitary ware provides basic toilet facilities, and the mobility device facilitates the overall movement of the toilet.
Classification Methods
- By structural form: They can be divided into single-structure mobile public toilets and composite-structure mobile public toilets. The single structure is relatively simple and independent, while the composite structure may be more complex and diverse in terms of functionality or spatial layout.
- By mobility method: They are classified into lifting and handling mobile public toilets and powered and towed mobile public toilets. Lifting and handling types are suitable for short-distance movement or position adjustment with the help of lifting equipment; powered and towed types can be moved over longer distances by means such as vehicle towing.
- By sewage treatment method: They are categorized into water-flush and non-water-flush suction mobile public toilets, circulating water-flush mobile public toilets, and dry-packing mobile public toilets. Water-flush types use water to flush excreta, non-water-flush suction types use suction equipment to handle feces, circulating water-flush types can recycle the flushing water, and dry-packing types package excreta in a dry form.
Appearance and Functionality
There are various appearance and functional designs. For example, a butterfly-shaped mobile public toilet is equipped with a management room, men's and women's toilet compartments, and a third toilet. It is 12 meters long and 3 meters wide in total, with metal carved panels on the exterior walls. An Apple Pod toilet can have multiple independent squatting compartments, with rain protection facilities and public washbasins in front. There are also two-squatting-compartment toilets with customizable sizes, available in basic and luxury versions.
