Follow-up on Mobile Men's Toilet Renovation

Admin October 19, 2026

The follow-up measures for men's toilet renovation at Shanxi Jinci Scenic Area and Guangdong Huizhou West Lake Scenic Area are different.

Shanxi Jinci Scenic Area

  • Implementation of measures: During the May Day holiday, Shanxi Jinci Scenic Area temporarily converted men's toilets into women's toilets and dispatched buses to serve as mobile men's toilets. This measure was implemented for the first time this year as an attempt based on the experience of previous years, starting from May 1st.
  • Follow-up arrangements: After the May Day holiday, temporary renovation facilities such as mobile men's toilets may be removed. However, considering the good results of this measure in alleviating the shortage of women's toilets, it may be continued during future holidays.
  • Implementation effects: By implementing this optimization measure, during peak tourist periods, the average daily reception capacity of the restrooms in this area increased significantly from about 3,000 person-times to 5,000 person-times. It effectively alleviated the shortage of women's toilets, improved the utilization efficiency of the restrooms, and enhanced the toilet-using experience for tourists.

Guangdong Huizhou West Lake Scenic Area

  • Adjustment of measures: Previously, the movable signs on the "tide toilets" in this scenic area caused controversy. Subsequently, all the movable signs on the involved tide toilets have been removed and will be replaced with fixed slot-type doorplates. This adjustment aims to avoid causing trouble to tourists due to sign issues and make the use of toilets more standardized and clear.
  • Follow-up improvement plans: In addition to replacing the signs, the scenic area will also introduce multiple measures to improve the problem of long queues for women's toilets during holidays. Although the specific measures have not been detailed, it can be inferred that they may include increasing the number of women's toilet stalls, optimizing the toilet layout, strengthening toilet management, etc., to further enhance the convenience of toilet use for female tourists.
