Mobile Insulated Toilet Installation

Admin September 22, 2026

The installation of mobile insulated toilets should be carried out in accordance with anti-freezing requirements, following the steps outlined below:

I. Equipment Selection and Preliminary Inspection

Prioritize mobile toilets with heating functions or ensure the equipment is equipped with insulation layers and anti-freezing designs for the drainage system. Before installation, inspect the main structure of the equipment for any damage, ensure the drainage pipes are unobstructed, and that the valve switches operate smoothly to guarantee the basic performance of the equipment meets standards.

II. Key Points for Anti-Freezing in Basic Installation

  1. Foundation Treatment: The ground must be level, and the foundation should be raised 15-30 cm above the ground (adjust according to regional standards) to prevent stability issues caused by snow accumulation, waterlogging, or frost heave. It is recommended to use a pre-fabricated concrete foundation and lay insulation materials such as polystyrene boards on the surface to isolate the frozen soil layer.
  2. Pipe Insulation: Wrap exposed drainage pipes with polyurethane foam insulation pipes, cover them with waterproof aluminum foil, and seal the joints with sealing tape. Ensure the main drainage pipe has a slope of ≥3° for smooth drainage. Install anti-freezing valves in winter and promptly drain any remaining water or add anti-freezing solution after use.
  3. Internal Insulation of the Equipment: Install windproof sealing strips on the toilet door, with a gap of ≤5 mm between the door and the frame. Use electric heating insulation for the toilet tank (maintain the temperature between 5-10°C). Install a waterproof insulation box for the electrical system and reserve installation positions for self-regulating heating cables (power: 20W/m) at the bottom of the equipment.

III. Maintenance of Power Supply and Heating Systems

Check the stability of the power supply lines and equip them with leakage protection devices. If the equipment has built-in electric or gas heating functions, test them regularly according to the instructions to ensure they activate automatically at low temperatures.

IV. Daily Use and Emergency Measures

  1. Regular Inspections: Check the water tank and pipes daily for freezing and address any abnormalities promptly.
  2. Extreme Weather Response: Close unnecessary drainage outlets or lay anti-slip and anti-freezing mats when the temperature drops below -5°C.
  3. Emergency Handling: Pour warm water (<40°C) over frozen pipes; never use open flames for thawing. For a frozen water tank, cut off the power supply, manually remove the ice, and inspect the heating element. Place glycerol water solution in the toilet bowl to prevent freezing.

V. Construction Standards and Responsibility Allocation

According to the Code for Planning of Urban Environmental Sanitation Facilities (GB50337-2018), the equipment must meet requirements such as a minimum operating temperature of -15°C, an insulation layer thickness of ≥50 mm, and an emergency interface for the power supply system. The lessor is responsible for factory anti-freezing modifications and maintenance, while the lessee must avoid人为破坏 (man-made damage) to the drainage system and contact professionals promptly if freezing is detected.
