Mobile House Container Refitted for Fresh Keeping

Admin September 17, 2026

Mobile house containers can be refitted for fresh-keeping purposes, but technical adaptability and renovation costs need to be comprehensively considered. Here are the specific renovation methods:

1. Install refrigeration units
Select appropriate refrigeration units based on the size of the container and usage requirements. The core components include compressors, condensers, and evaporators. During installation, the units need to be fixed, and refrigeration pipelines and electrical circuits need to be connected. The pipelines should be wrapped with insulation materials to reduce cold loss. If the original unit has insufficient power or low energy efficiency, energy-saving equipment should be replaced to reduce long-term operating costs.

2. Sealing and thermal insulation treatment
Use sealants and sealing strips to seal the container doors, gaps, and other parts to prevent cold air leakage. The top, bottom, and sides should be covered with thermal insulation materials such as polyurethane and polystyrene, with a thickness usually not less than 50mm, to reduce the inflow of external heat. The joints of the container body should be reinforced and sealed to avoid the formation of cold bridges.

3. Ventilation system renovation
Install ventilation openings and ventilation fans on the top or sides. The size and number of ventilation openings should be determined according to the container volume (e.g., configure 0.02-0.05 square meters of ventilation openings per cubic meter) and usage requirements. The fan power should match the ventilation volume to ensure uniform air circulation and avoid local temperature fluctuations.

4. Internal structure adjustment
Install shelves, pallets, and other layered shelves or drawers according to the type of stored items to optimize space utilization. The lighting system should be renovated to use energy-saving lamps such as LED lights to reduce heat generation. The temperature control system should be upgraded with high-precision sensors and controllers to control temperature fluctuations within ±1℃ and meet the fresh-keeping requirements of 0℃~10℃.

5. Detail handling
Improve the drainage system by setting drainage openings at the bottom of the container body and connecting them to drainage pipes to ensure timely drainage of condensed water. Install safety protection devices such as temperature sensors and alarms to monitor the environment inside the container in real-time and automatically alarm in case of abnormalities.

Renovation requires evaluating the input-output ratio: It is cost-effective for short-term or temporary fresh-keeping scenarios. For long-term and high-frequency use, it is necessary to comprehensively calculate the costs of equipment procurement, structural adjustment, power system adaptation, and operation and maintenance. It is recommended to entrust a professional cold storage engineering team for feasibility evaluation and implementation. The prices of refitted products on the market vary from 5,000 yuan to 24,500 yuan depending on the configuration and region, and an appropriate plan should be selected according to actual needs.
