Mobile Home Refit Container
Admin September 15, 2026
When refitting mobile homes into containers, it is necessary to comprehensively consider factors such as structure, purpose, cost, and compliance. Common refit types include container-type, foldable, modular, and expandable office buildings. During refitting, attention should be paid to structural stability, transportation convenience, scenario adaptability, and recyclability.

I. Common Refit Types and Characteristics
- Container-type Office Buildings: Using standard containers as carriers, they are transformed into independent office units. Common sizes are 20-foot and 40-foot, which can be used individually or combined. Their advantages lie in their sturdy structure and convenient transportation, making them suitable for project departments, construction site command centers, and other scenarios.
- Foldable Office Buildings: They adopt a foldable structural design, compressing in volume during transportation and quickly unfolding upon arrival. The unfolding time for a single set can be controlled within 30 minutes, making them suitable for office needs that require frequent relocation, such as exploration teams and temporary command posts.
- Modular Office Buildings: They are assembled on-site using a combination of light steel frames and color steel plates. They can be flexibly expanded according to the number of people and functional zoning, and are commonly seen in temporary offices in parks and event planning sites.
- Expandable Office Buildings: They add side or end expansion cabins on the basis of containers, increasing the usable area by 30%-50% after unfolding. They are suitable for long-term on-site offices with high requirements for spatial comfort.
II. Refit Considerations
- Structural Stability: Ensure that the refitted container buildings comply with building seismic design codes, such as using a full steel structural frame and ensuring that the weld strength meets relevant standards.
- Transportation Convenience: Consider the folded volume and the loading capacity of a single truck to reduce transportation costs.
- Scenario Adaptability: Choose the appropriate refit type according to the specific usage scenario. For example, emergency support scenarios require a focus on rapid deployment capabilities, while long-term on-site offices need to pay attention to spatial comfort.
- Recyclability: Choose compliant products that support multiple disassembly and reassembly cycles to reduce the full life cycle cost and minimize construction waste emissions.
