Mobile 3-Squat Toilet

Admin October 02, 2026

A mobile 3-squat toilet is a flexible sanitation facility that features three squatting toilet units within an independent mobile container. It is characterized by its mobility and multi-squat combination, eliminating the need for fixed underground sewage pipes and allowing for lifting or towing to the desired location for use.

Main Frame and Container Body

The main frame and container body form the foundational structure of the mobile 3-squat toilet. Typically constructed from lightweight yet sturdy materials such as galvanized steel plates, aluminum alloys, or high-strength composite materials, they possess anti-rust, corrosion-resistant, and impact-resistant properties, enabling them to adapt to various outdoor environments. The container body design emphasizes airtightness and thermal insulation, with internal waterproofing and ventilation windows or exhaust fans to maintain air circulation. For example, some overall frames are welded from galvanized square steel, with exterior walls made of milky white metal carved panels for thermal insulation, allowing the overall frame to be used outdoors for over 15 years; others feature an overall design with metal carved panels in a gray and white color scheme.

Squat Units

The three squat units are typically arranged side by side or reasonably separated according to the shape of the container body. Each unit includes a squat toilet, a flushing device (or a waterless treatment system), and a necessary partition door to ensure user privacy. The partition doors are usually equipped with simple locking mechanisms.

Excreta Treatment System

  • Storage Tank Type: Each squat unit has a storage tank (septic tank) beneath it or shares a larger one to collect excreta. It may be used with a small amount of water for flushing or with degrading agents and deodorizers to break down solid waste and reduce odors. Regular pumping and cleaning by specialized service vehicles are required.
  • Recirculating Water Flush Type: Equipped with a small water tank and a recirculating water treatment system, it filters and disinfects the flushing water for reuse, saving water but having a relatively complex structure.
  • Dry/Packing Type: After each use, a mechanical device automatically packs and seals the excreta in biodegradable plastic bags or uses foam sealing technology to cover the toilet bowl opening, preventing odor emission without the need for water. However, the storage bags need to be replaced regularly or the foaming agent replenished.

Auxiliary Facilities

These include lighting systems (possibly powered by solar energy), handrails, hooks, storage shelves, and toilet paper holders, all aimed at enhancing user convenience. Additionally, some mobile 3-squat toilets feature two toilet compartments and one management room, with the restroom having a gray aluminum alloy exterior door and complete internal water and electricity fixtures; others have a mobile toilet with three squat units and one management room, with all fixtures ready for use upon placement.
