Military Prefabricated Housing
Military prefabricated housing is a type of barracks built to meet modern military needs, using factory-prefabricated components for rapid on-site assembly. It is characterized by efficiency, flexibility, and environmental friendliness, providing reliable living support for border defense troops.

I. New Demountable Self-Powered Insulated Barracks
- Design and Installation: All components are prefabricated in factories with lightweight designs, allowing soldiers to assemble them manually without mechanical equipment and enabling flexible combinations. This "building block" construction method significantly shortens the construction period and improves construction efficiency.
- Performance and Functionality: Utilizing energy-efficient building and photovoltaic power generation technologies, these barracks can maintain indoor temperatures above 15℃ even in areas with outdoor temperatures as low as -40℃ and altitudes exceeding 5000 meters. Internally, they provide essential living facilities such as accommodation, dining, sanitation, electricity, and heat, meeting the basic living needs of border defense troops.
- Environmental Protection and Sustainability: Most building materials are recyclable, and maintenance and renovation only require disassembly and reassembly of "components," reducing construction waste and aligning with green building principles.
II. "Insulated Barracks" Developed by the Army Engineering University of the PLA
- Comprehensive Functionality: These barracks can be regarded as fully functional mini-fortresses, including rooms such as bedrooms, washrooms, toilets, and even libraries, providing a comfortable living environment for soldiers.
- Extreme Environment Adaptability: The heating equipment enables border defense troops to work normally in extremely cold environments of -55℃, maintaining indoor temperatures at a comfortable level of around 15℃, demonstrating their excellent insulation performance.
- Energy Supply: A "wind-solar complementary power generation system" is deployed around the barracks, utilizing local wind and solar energy for power generation, supplemented by diesel generators to ensure a stable energy supply.
III. Design Principles for Modern Barracks Architecture
Modern barracks architecture adheres to the principles of "prioritizing combat readiness and ensuring living conditions," emphasizing the integration of combat readiness functions into planning details guided by the execution of diverse military tasks. Modern design concepts encompass prefabricated, demountable, and mobile "building block" construction methods, as well as design research based on green building principles, providing strong support for the development of military prefabricated housing.
