Materials of Portable Toilets
The materials of portable toilets are diverse, commonly including fiberglass reinforced plastic, stainless steel, polyethylene or plastic, metal sheets or aluminum alloy, as well as composite or new materials, etc.

Fiberglass reinforced plastic is composed of glass fibers and resin, featuring light weight, smooth surface, and ease of cleaning. Its main body is made of epoxy resin and glass fibers, with the base molded from colored reinforced fiberglass. The wall panels are smooth and flat, possessing properties such as UV resistance, easy cleaning, and structural robustness. This material is resistant to rust and corrosion, suitable for humid or rainy environments, and widely used in emergency scenarios such as temporary large gatherings, construction sites, and natural disasters.
Stainless steel offers high strength, impact resistance, and corrosion resistance, with a surface that is easy to disinfect and maintains good hygiene. However, its high thermal conductivity may affect user experience in extreme temperature environments, and its cost is relatively high. It is typically used in places with high hygiene requirements, such as high-end events or medical rescue scenarios.
Polyethylene or plastic materials are lightweight, low-cost, and easy to mold and transport. They have good sealing properties, effectively preventing odor leakage, and strong weather resistance, suitable for long-term outdoor use. However, their strength is relatively low, and they are prone to wear or deformation under long-term use or harsh weather conditions, mostly used in temporary, low-cost demand scenarios.
Metal sheets or aluminum alloy materials combine the characteristics of lightweight and high strength. Aluminum alloy is corrosion-resistant, suitable for coastal or high-humidity areas. They have stable structures and are easy to maintain, but their thermal insulation performance is poor. They may become stuffy in summer due to high temperatures and uncomfortable in winter due to low temperatures, commonly used in fixed portable toilets in industrial areas or coastal regions.
Composite or new materials, such as fiber-reinforced plastics or hybrid materials, integrate multiple advantages, offering good durability and environmental adaptability, with more flexible design and functionality. For example, some new materials enhance hygiene performance by adding antibacterial components or adopt modular designs for quick assembly. However, their cost and technical requirements are relatively high, currently mostly used in high-end customized scenarios or special environmental needs.
