Materials for Mobile Toilets

Admin September 21, 2026

The following materials can be used to make mobile toilets, covering the base structure, mobile devices, sanitary ware, walls and roofs, as well as other auxiliary parts:

1. Base Structure Materials The base structure of a mobile toilet needs to balance stability and portability. Wood was commonly used in the early days, but it is prone to moisture and decay, and has gradually been replaced by fiberglass and polyethylene. Fiberglass is corrosion-resistant and strong, suitable for long-term outdoor use; polyethylene is lightweight and waterproof, often used in simple mobile toilets. Additionally, water storage buckets or tanks can serve as the core materials for the main structure, achieving dual functions of water storage and support through modifications. Supporting materials include wooden boards, wooden strips (for frame construction), plastic soft boards (waterproof barriers), and stainless steel basins (as bottom sewage collectors or water storage containers), which together form a stable support system.

2. Mobile Device Materials To facilitate movement, casters need to be installed at the bottom of the base frame. Typically, metal casters that are wear-resistant and have strong load-bearing capacity are chosen, fixed at the four corners of the wooden or polyethylene frame to ensure smooth and flexible steering during movement.

3. Sanitary Ware Related Materials Sanitary ware is the core functional component of a mobile toilet, requiring durable water pipes and connectors. Toilets can be made of plastic or ceramic (depending on budget and durability requirements), with water tanks equipped with float valves to control water levels, and faucets and showers designed to be water-saving. Connecting materials include PVC water pipes, elbows, glue, and silicone sealant, used for pipe splicing and sealing to prevent leaks. If a water storage tank is used for water supply, a small water pump is also needed to increase water pressure.

4. Wall and Roof Materials Walls and roofs need to balance waterproofing, heat insulation, and portability. There are two common solutions: one is to embed plastic soft boards into wooden strip frames to form detachable elevated walls, with wooden strips covering the top of the water storage tank as the roof; the other is to stack two top-opening water storage tanks and fix the outer frame with self-tapping screws to form an integrated wall and roof structure, which has better sealing but requires ensuring the tank material is weather-resistant.

5. Other Auxiliary Materials For door frame construction, sponge strips are used to fill gaps and enhance sealing; doors and frames are connected with hinges (such as stainless steel ones) to ensure smooth opening and closing; if the door body is made of honeycomb wooden boards spliced together, foam strips are used to fill gaps and improve heat insulation. Additionally, accessories such as exhaust fans and lights can be added as needed, with wire holes reserved and waterproof sockets selected.
