Marathon Outdoor Portable Toilet

Admin October 16, 2026

Marathon outdoor portable toilets are temporary sanitation facilities set up to meet the toilet needs of participants and spectators during the event. The following provides an introduction from three aspects: setup situation, planning issues, and product features.

Setup Situation

In marathon events, the placement of portable toilets is usually carefully planned to ensure sufficient coverage at the finish line and along the route. For example, the 2025 Beijing Marathon had 169 portable toilets set up along the course, with the number of toilet stalls on the east side of Tiananmen increasing from 765 to 1,119, bringing the total number of stalls to 1,449. This scale of setup aims to address the high demand for toilets during the event, preventing long queues and ensuring the smooth running of the marathon and a good experience for participants and spectators.

Planning Issues

Although the planning of portable toilets aims to meet the demand, issues may still arise during actual implementation. Taking the Harbin Marathon as an example, due to the unreasonable distribution of toilets and the impact of rainy weather, some toilets were used for shelter from the rain, leaving those who truly needed to use the toilets with nowhere to go. This situation not only affected the normal performance of participants but also led to uncivilized behavior, such as athletes urinating on the lawn, negatively impacting the event's image and the environment. Therefore, when planning portable toilets, it is necessary to fully consider factors such as the weather conditions on the event day, the number of participants, and the flow of people, and arrange the toilet locations reasonably to ensure they can truly serve their purpose.
