Make a Simple Mobile Toilet

Admin October 02, 2026

You can refer to the following three methods to make a simple mobile toilet:

Making with a Water Storage Barrel

First, prepare a water storage barrel and use an angle grinder to split it in half lengthwise. Fix universal wheels at the four corners of a wooden board for mobility. Then, take wooden strips and fix them to the upper side of the barrel with self-tapping screws to increase the height. Use the angle grinder to cut an opening on the side of the water storage barrel and install sponge strips on both sides of the opening to form a door frame. Insert plastic soft boards between the wooden strips to create raised walls. Place the upper half of the water storage barrel on top of the wooden strips as a roof. Paint the wooden strips with white waterproof paint to enhance their appearance. Use foam strips to piece together discarded honeycomb wooden boards to make a simple door. Cut a hole at the bottom of the barrel and install a drain pipe to form a floor drain. Cut holes on the side and bottom of the plastic barrel, connect them with direct fittings, and place the plastic barrel on the roof as a small water storage device. Connect the bath heater made of water pipes, install a tee fitting under the water inlet pipe, and connect a showerhead. Place a toilet and install a water tank, fixing it with glass glue. Connect the drain pipe to the sewage barrel, and horizontally connect a water pipe from the tee fitting on the outlet pipe to the door as the water inlet pipe for the sink. Finally, cut holes in the door and install fittings.

Building a Mobile Toilet with Discarded Tiles

First, place the toilet on the tile and use a ruler to draw red marking lines along the edge of the toilet. Move the toilet away and use an angle grinder to cut out a rectangular tile piece slightly larger than the bottom of the toilet along the marking lines. Turn the rectangular tile over and place universal wheels at the four corners. Use a marker to mark the points and drill screw holes with an electric drill. Realign the universal wheels with the screw holes, insert the screw rods, and tighten the nuts to fix them. Use the angle grinder to cut off the protruding screw rods on the back of the tile and place the toilet back on the tile. Draw marking lines along the edge of the toilet and the position of the sewage outlet, and insert and fix a hose from the bottom of the tile. Spread white cement along the marking lines on the tile and place the toilet according to the marking lines to bond it firmly with the tile using the cement. Move the toilet with the installed base to the bathroom, install the water tank, tighten the plastic fasteners, cover the water tank lid, install the toilet seat, put the sewage hose into the drain pipe, and connect the water inlet pipe to the water tank.

Making with a Water Storage Tank and a Pallet

Take out a plastic pallet and fix a universal wheel at each of the four corners at the bottom of the pallet with tools. Subsequently, you can place simple toilet facilities such as a portable toilet on the pallet according to your needs to build a simple mobile toilet.
