Lu'an Mobile Toilet Renovation

Lu'an has carried out work in mobile toilet renovation mainly from two aspects: urban public toilet renovation and rural toilet renovation along with long-term management and maintenance improvement.

In terms of urban public toilet renovation, the Lu'an Urban Management Bureau has focused on special rectification efforts, aiming to enhance the convenience and cleanliness of public toilets. It has urged all counties and districts to conduct a comprehensive 'dragnet' inspection of 466 urban public toilets within the planned areas according to standards, addressing issues such as inadequate management and maintenance, equipment failures, and poor environments. A total of 1,129 problems have been identified and rectified across the city, basically achieving standardization goals. Each county and district has also taken its own measures: Jin'an District has implemented dual upgrades in facilities and mechanisms, renovating wall tiles, redoing roof waterproofing, and adding barrier-free facilities to raise management standards; Yeji District has solved blockage problems by rectifying old pipelines and ensured power supply by transforming independent circuits; Lu'an Economic Development Zone has focused on details, installing magnetic anti-fly screen doors, replacing energy-saving lamps and water-saving faucets, and establishing a 'daily inspection and weekly maintenance' list; Yu'an District has comprehensively repaired exterior facades, replaced and repaired sanitary ware, established a 'three-inspection system' and a '24-hour response' maintenance mechanism, and incorporated it into the smart urban management platform to shorten the response time for fault handling; Huoshan County has carried out precise rectification according to the 'one toilet, one policy' for public toilets with severe facility damage due to high foot traffic; Huoqiu County has raised funds from multiple sources to rebuild the public toilet in the Wenming Courtyard and added a third toilet; Jinzhai County has invested funds to build new septic tanks and pipelines to address sewage overflow at the root, along with daily recycling and cleaning.

In terms of rural toilet renovation and long-term management and maintenance improvement, Yeji District in Lu'an City has implemented a relevant project, which was won by China Mobile Communications Group Anhui Co., Ltd. The project utilizes modern information technologies such as 'cloud computing' and 'big data' to build an information-based and digital long-term management and maintenance platform covering rural toilets (household toilets + public toilets) across the district. It conducts real-time supervision over the entire chain, including equipment maintenance, fecal sludge removal, harmless treatment and utilization, public toilet management and maintenance, complaint suggestions, and operation and maintenance. It also involves the renovation and improvement of fecal sludge storage tanks and the promotion of precautions for toilet use.
