Lu'an Container House Installation

Admin September 17, 2026

When installing container houses in Lu'an, it is essential to focus on foundation treatment, lifting and transportation, finishing touches, and compliance requirements. The key points are as follows:

I. Foundation Treatment

In some areas of Lu'an, the soil is relatively soft. Before installation, a foundation inspection must be conducted to confirm the soil bearing capacity. If the bearing capacity is insufficient, sand and gravel replacement or concrete foundation pouring (thickness ≥ 15 cm, referring to the 2024 specifications of the Anhui Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development) is required. The foundation surface must be leveled with a level gauge, with an error not exceeding 3 cm, and waterproofing membranes should be laid to prevent rainwater infiltration and rusting of the container body. Common foundation types include concrete or steel structure foundations, which need to be poured in advance and ensure adequate strength. During installation, expansion bolts or pressure beams should be used to secure the container and prevent displacement.

II. Lifting and Transportation

Each container weighs between 3 and 5 tons and requires professional crane operations. Before lifting, check the weather conditions; wind speeds should be ≤ Level 5, and operations are prohibited during thunderstorms. The crane's outriggers must be padded with steel plates to distribute pressure, and anti-slip pads should be placed at the contact points with the container bottom. During transportation, note the following:

  • Height Restrictions: The maximum height limit on Anhui highways is 4.2 meters. For oversized transportation, an oversize permit must be obtained in advance.
  • Securing Measures: The container must be secured during transportation to prevent displacement or deformation.
  • Site Requirements: The installation site must be flat and firm (e.g., hardened ground or steel plates laid), with access channels reserved and obstacles cleared.

III. Finishing Touches

  1. Sealing Treatment: Use weather-resistant sealant to seal gaps around doors and windows, with particular attention to the top connections to prevent water infiltration.
  2. Drainage Design: Create a 1% drainage slope on the roof to avoid water accumulation and deformation of the container body during the rainy season.
  3. Electrical Testing: After installation, power on and test run for 24 hours to check if sockets and lighting are functioning properly. If used in old residential areas, confirm the electricity meter capacity in advance (a separate dedicated line is required for capacities exceeding 10 KW).
  4. Structural Inspection: Ensure that walls and floors are securely installed without looseness or abnormal noises.

IV. Compliance and Acceptance

Before installation, confirm that the site meets regulatory requirements. After installation, a comprehensive acceptance inspection is required, including:

  • Appearance Inspection: No damage or deformation.
  • Structural Stability Test: Ensure the container is stable.
  • Fire Safety Facilities: If used for accommodation, fire extinguishers and emergency exits must be equipped.

Tip: Lu'an experiences frequent rainy and thunderstorm weather in summer. Special attention should be paid to waterproofing, wind resistance, and construction safety. Strictly adhere to local regulations to ensure the safety and service life of the container house.
