Admin September 15, 2026

Common dimensions of container houses in Longnan include standard 20-foot containers (6.058 meters long, 2.438 meters wide, 2.591 meters high), 40-foot containers (12.192 meters long, 2.438 meters wide, 2.591 meters high), and custom non-standard sizes (such as 3 meters by 6 meters, 3 meters by 12 meters, etc.). The following provides an explanation from three aspects: standard dimensions, custom non-standard dimensions, and special-type dimensions.

I. Standard Container House Dimensions
Internationally, standard container houses are primarily available in 20-foot and 40-foot sizes. The external dimensions of a 20-foot container are 6.058 meters long, 2.438 meters wide, and 2.591 meters high, with internal clear dimensions of approximately 5.898 meters long, 2.352 meters wide, and 2.393 meters high, a volume of about 33.2 cubic meters, and a load capacity of 17.5-21 tons, suitable for single-person offices, dormitories, or small shops. The external dimensions of a 40-foot container are 12.192 meters long, 2.438 meters wide, and 2.591 meters high, with internal clear dimensions of approximately 12.032 meters long, 2.352 meters wide, and 2.393 meters high, a volume of about 67.7 cubic meters, and a load capacity of 26-28 tons, which can be divided into multi-functional spaces or multi-person dormitories through internal partitions. Additionally, the height of a 40-foot high cube container (40HQ) increases to 2.896 meters, with an internal clear height of about 2.698 meters and a volume of 76.4 cubic meters, suitable for exhibition halls or housing with height requirements.

II. Custom Non-Standard Container House Dimensions
To meet the needs of construction site offices and temporary residences, the market predominantly uses a non-standard size of 3 meters by 6 meters. Such houses have an internal clear height of about 2.6 meters and an expanded area of about 18 square meters, accommodating a double bed, a simple desk, and a standing wardrobe, with high space utilization and convenient lifting and transportation. Other common non-standard sizes include 3 meters by 8 meters, 3 meters by 12 meters, etc., with widths of 2.5 meters, 2.55 meters, 3 meters, and 4 meters, and heights of 2.6 meters, 2.7 meters, 2.8 meters, and 2.9 meters, supporting customization of special door and window positions, partitions, and interior and exterior decorations.

III. Special-Type Container House Dimensions
Duplex container houses achieve space expansion through splicing. For example, three 40-foot containers spliced together have dimensions of 11.8 meters long, 6.75 meters wide, and 2.8 meters high, with a usable area of 80 square meters, suitable for arranging living rooms, bedrooms, and office areas. Packaged container houses adopt a welded structure, with internal dimensions of 5.88 meters long, 2.84 meters wide, and 2.5 meters high, and a bottom frame made of 3.0mm thick galvanized main beams, with walls made of 75mm thick color-steel glass wool sandwich panels, suitable for scenarios with high structural strength requirements.
