How to Choose Hardware for Residential Container Houses

Admin September 11, 2026

Currently, demand for living containers is increasing. In outdoor operations, field work, emergency disaster relief, construction, and similar situations, workers need everyday living accommodations—containers then serve as the basic living space. So how should you choose the hardware? 1. Check that the hardware model meets national standard requirements and matches the doors and windows. For wider sliding windows, a pulley design is preferable, with double glazing installed for insulation. 2. Hinges must not be made of aluminum alloy; use stainless steel hinges instead. Install hardware with fastening screws. Living containers must have interior lining—that is, metal liner panels—and panel thickness must be more than twice the fastener thickness. Fasteners generally should not be used on plastic panels. 3. Hardware accessories ensure overall structural stability. Door and window locks, handles, and similar fittings should be installed after the door and window frames are fixed, ensuring correct positioning and smooth opening and closing. In addition, living-container hardware requires maintenance: prevent rust during use, and open and close gently to avoid damage.
