Lifting Methods for Public Mobile Toilets

Admin October 09, 2026

There are four main lifting methods for public mobile toilets: lifting, forklift handling, dragging, and powered towing, as detailed below:

Lifting Method: This is the most common lifting method for public mobile toilets, primarily suitable for steel-structured or color-steel mobile toilets. The project requires four lifting rings at the top of the load-bearing points. The manufacturer has welded lifting straps at the factory, with a length of no less than 6 meters, and each lifting ring must be hung separately. During unloading, the toilet must be kept horizontal, and tilting is strictly prohibited to ensure safety. The choice of crane tonnage depends on the number of toilet compartments. For example, 2 to 4 compartments require a crane of 12 tons or more, 5 to 6 compartments require 16 tons or more, and 7 compartments or more require 20 tons or more. For flat-roofed toilets, the manufacturer generally reserves lifting hooks, whose positions are the load-bearing points; for peaked-roof toilets, the load-bearing points are near the peak.

Forklift Handling: Some models of public mobile toilets are designed with forklift slots at the bottom, allowing them to be directly handled by a forklift. This method is particularly suitable for models with channel steel or I-beam frames at the bottom. Its advantage is that it does not require a crane and can complete short-distance relocation with just a forklift. During operation, ensure that the forklift tines are aligned with the slots and lifted evenly to prevent tilting.

Dragging Method: This method is limited to lightweight mobile toilets, such as small plastic integrated mobile toilets weighing approximately 100 kg. These toilets usually have dragging ports or hook holes at the bottom or side, which can be hooked with a hook and dragged by hand or with a small cart. The advantage of this method is that it does not require any machinery and can be easily moved by just two or three people.

Powered Towing Type: This method is suitable for scenarios that require frequent relocation, such as construction sites moving with progress. Powered towing mobile toilets have wheels and a towing frame at the bottom, allowing them to be towed like a trailer behind a vehicle without the need for a crane. This method provides great flexibility, making the deployment and relocation of mobile toilets more convenient.
