Mobile Toilets in Laoshan Scenic Area

Admin September 27, 2026

The mobile toilets in Laoshan Scenic Area feature multiple characteristics such as intelligence, humanization, innovative management, landscape integration, and health detection.

I. Intelligent Ecology and Humanized Design
Laoshan Scenic Area has collaborated with Everbright Group to construct nine intelligent ecological toilets, utilizing IoT technology for intelligent facility management. For instance, automatic temperature and humidity control, adjustable lighting brightness based on environmental changes, automatic ventilation when odors exceed standards, and an intelligent analysis system to monitor water and electricity consumption as well as equipment failures. The interior of the toilets is spacious and bright, equipped with barrier-free facilities (such as ramps and handrails) and storage shelves, and the number of toilet seats has been increased to meet the needs of different groups. Except for a few third toilets that charge a fee, the rest are free of charge, taking into account the convenience of the elderly, disabled individuals, and children.

II. Innovative Construction and Management Models with Efficient Management
The scenic area has introduced the PPP cooperation model, partnering with enterprises to enhance public service quality. It implements the “Five Modernizations” standards (environmental protection, practicality, aesthetics, convenience, and intelligence) and is equipped with a smart guidance system to monitor toilet occupancy and air quality in real-time, achieving high visitor flow distribution through big data. In terms of management, the 7S on-site management and five-member management approach are adopted, combined with intelligent devices to automatically notify cleaning, replenishing toilet paper and hand soap, ensuring timely toilet maintenance. Additionally, the improved MBR ecological treatment system achieves zero sewage discharge, the integrated fresh air system reduces energy consumption, photocatalyst panels deodorize and inhibit bacteria, and infrared technology supports centralized big data control.

III. Flexible Toilet Stall Conversion and Health Detection Functions
The toilets achieve dynamic adjustment of male and female toilet stalls through infrared sensing and intelligent conversion doors, allowing flexible resource allocation during peak periods. Uniquely, some ecological toilets have added health detection areas where visitors can undergo physical examinations using urine samples and receive immediate test results, integrating basic medical services into tourism facilities.

IV. Cultural Integration and Landscape Harmony
The exterior design of the toilets incorporates elements of Laoshan Taoist culture, using local stone materials and traditional architectural styles to harmonize with the natural landscape and urban appearance of the scenic area, avoiding a sense of incongruity and serving as one of the windows for cultural display in the scenic area.
