Lanzhou Mobile Toilet Renovation
The renovation of mobile toilets in Lanzhou involves multiple aspects such as systematic renovation of public toilets, upgrading of procurement standards, and intelligent and green development.

Systematic Renovation of Public Toilets: The Qilihe District Environmental Sanitation Center regards public toilet renovation as an important task for enhancing urban quality and addressing shortcomings in people's livelihoods, promoting a phased quality improvement project. The first phase of the renovation project for 8 public toilets has been completed and opened, covering important areas such as the Yellow River Scenic Line, West Lake Park, main roads, business districts, and residential areas. The renovation abandons the patchwork repair model and focuses on issues such as damaged walls and slippery floors to implement systematic renovation. It comprehensively repairs both internal and external walls and simultaneously upgrades facilities such as flushing fixtures. At the same time, it takes into account the needs of groups such as the elderly, optimizing barrier-free access and anti-slip protection designs to enhance the practicality and convenience of public toilets.
Upgrading of Procurement Standards Drives Renovation: With the acceleration of urban renewal in Lanzhou, mobile toilets have shifted from temporary emergency configurations to standardized procurement decisions. In 2025, the annual procurement budget for movable sanitary facilities in public activity areas within Lanzhou City will increase by 37% year-on-year, with more than 60% of projects explicitly requiring capabilities such as freeze protection and insulation. Among the 12 newly built suburban parks and 4 urban greenway projects, 9 projects have included mobile toilets in their basic supporting facility lists, with procurement standards generally raised to technical thresholds such as operation at -25°C. This forces local suppliers to accelerate product iteration and service upgrades, promoting the renovation and upgrading of mobile toilets in Lanzhou and enhancing their adaptability and durability.
Direction of Intelligent and Green Development: In recent years, the services of mobile toilets in Lanzhou have been developing towards intelligence and greenness. New solar-powered toilets and Internet of Things (IoT) remote monitoring systems have begun to be applied, enabling real-time display of usage status and maintenance needs, improving management efficiency and service quality. At the same time, the proportion of environmentally friendly mobile toilets has been increasing year by year, adopting technologies such as water conservation, energy conservation, and emission reduction to promote the low-carbon transformation of urban public facilities, in line with the requirements of sustainable development.
