Jinshan District Creative Mobile Toilets

Admin October 10, 2026

Jinshan District has carried out multiple innovative practices in creative mobile toilets, mainly including solar-powered public toilets and high-appearance mobile public toilets.

Solar-powered public toilets are a typical representative of Jinshan District's application of new energy sources. Its first pilot project is located in Binjiang Luwan Park on the Zhujing section of National Highway G320, covering a total area of 270 square meters and adopting a new energy model of 'photovoltaic + energy storage'. Solar panels are installed on the roof of the toilet, with an expected annual power generation of 17,100 kilowatt-hours, which not only meets its own power needs but also provides support for electric vehicle charging stations and nighttime power supply in the park. In addition, the toilet roof is equipped with an observation deck, combining practicality with landscape functions, reflecting the integrated design of green energy and public facilities. This model effectively reduces the dependence of traditional public toilets on the power grid through the utilization of renewable energy sources, reduces carbon emissions, and aligns with the concept of sustainable development.

High-appearance mobile public toilets focus on the travel needs of citizens and humanized services. Jinshan District has set up seven mobile public toilets on busy road sections in the new urban area, which officially opened on January 25th. These toilets break away from traditional images in design, adopting aesthetically pleasing shapes and complete facility configurations. Internally, they are equipped with management rooms, third toilets, hot and cold water induction faucets, barrier-free facilities, musical prompts, and air conditioning, comprehensively covering the usage needs of different groups of people. For example, the third toilet provides convenience for special groups such as disabled individuals and parents with young children; barrier-free facilities ensure the safe use of individuals with mobility impairments; hot and cold water induction faucets and air conditioning enhance usage comfort. In addition, the design of musical prompts not only optimizes the toilet experience but also reflects respect for user privacy.

The practices of these two types of creative mobile toilets demonstrate Jinshan District's innovative thinking in public facility construction from the dimensions of energy utilization and service functions, respectively. The solar-powered toilet achieves a balance between environmental protection and functionality through technological integration, while the high-appearance mobile public toilet enhances the humanized level of urban public services through detailed design. These practices not only improve the toilet environment for citizens but also provide referenceable public facility upgrade plans for other regions.
