Renovation of Mobile Toilets in Rural Areas of Jianwei
The renovation of mobile toilets in rural areas of Jianwei County has achieved remarkable results through multi-dimensional measures. The specific measures and achievements are as follows:

1. Key Area Renovation and Facility Upgrades
Jianwei County has incorporated the renovation of public toilets in the central urban area into the “Four Public Facilities and One Agricultural Facility” construction and improvement initiative. It has completed the quality upgrade and opening of 25 public toilets, with the remaining 4 expected to be put into use by the end of December. The renovated public toilets have added rest areas, matching seats, and other facilities, with a comprehensive renewal of the internal environment, significantly improving the toilet experience for citizens. Meanwhile, in rural areas, with the “toilet revolution” as the core, Longkong Town has completed the renovation of 576 toilets in four villages including Shuguang Village, addressing shortcomings in the quality of life. Wuyu Town's Ping'an Village has combined industrial development to promote three-compartment fecal sludge treatment tanks through the “build first, subsidize later” model, converting dry toilets to water toilets. Approximately 830 water toilets have been built, achieving a dual improvement in sanitary conditions and resource recycling.
2. Innovation in Toilet Renovation Models and Resource Integration
Jianwei County has combined the toilet revolution with the “Thousand-Village Demonstration Project” for rural domestic sewage treatment, customizing solutions for problems in different towns and villages. For example, Hongliu Village in Dingwen Town adopts the “three-compartment tank” septic tank technology, achieving sewage purification through three-stage sedimentation and anaerobic fermentation. The treated reclaimed water can be used for farmland irrigation, forming a closed loop of resource recycling. In addition, demonstration villages promote the “three-compartment tank + grease trap + constructed wetland” system, effectively separating fecal sludge from kitchen sewage and reducing environmental pollution.
3. Demonstration Leadership and Large-Scale Popularization
Jianwei County has established seven demonstration villages, including Hongliu Village and Yinqiao Village, to stimulate villagers' enthusiasm for toilet renovation through joint household construction of small-scale power-integrated systems and the construction of new public toilets. As of now, the county has completed the new construction and renovation of 13,904 rural household harmless sanitary toilets. In 2023, it plans to complete another 3,848 households, expecting to achieve a harmless sanitary toilet popularity rate of over 90% in villages where toilets have been renovated. The demonstration projects not only improve the sanitary conditions of individual households but also promote the environmental improvement of the entire village, forming a replicable promotion model.
4. Long-Term Management Mechanisms to Ensure Sustainability
Jianwei County adheres to the concept of “small public toilets, big people's livelihood” and has established long-term mechanisms such as regular inspections, dedicated cleaning, and facility maintenance to ensure that public toilets and rural toilets remain clean and comfortable for a long time. Through dynamic supervision combined with feedback from the masses, damaged facilities are promptly repaired, and the user experience is optimized, effectively enhancing the sense of gain and satisfaction among the people.
