Jiangxi Container House Specification Diagram
Admin September 16, 2026
The common specification dimensions of container houses in Jiangxi are mainly based on the international standard 20-foot and 40-foot containers. The indoor net space of a 20-foot container is approximately 5.8 meters long, 2.3 meters wide, and 2.2 meters high, while that of a 40-foot container is approximately 11.8 meters long, 2.3 meters wide, and 2.2 meters high. The space can also be expanded through combined designs.

Standard Specification Dimensions
- 20-foot container: According to international standards, a 20-foot container has a load capacity of 25 tons. Its indoor usable net space is relatively cramped, with a low indoor height and a narrow and long horizontal space. Generally, the indoor length is about 5.8 meters, the width is about 2.3 meters, and the height is about 2.2 meters. This type of container house is suitable for scenarios with small space requirements, such as single-person residences and small office spaces.
- 40-foot container: A 40-foot container has a load capacity of 45 tons, and its indoor space is more spacious than that of a 20-foot container. The indoor length is about 11.8 meters, the width is about 2.3 meters, and the height is about 2.2 meters. It can meet the needs of multi-person residences, large-scale office or commercial activities, etc.
Combined and Expanded Specifications
- Container houses can be designed through adaptive combinations of container bodies to create a wider variety of buildings. For example, by assembling multiple containers vertically and horizontally, buildings with different numbers of floors, such as two-story and three-story structures, can be formed, creating larger usable spaces. Some small-scale homestay hotels are composed of four 6-meter-long containers, with two on the lower level and two on the upper level. The lower level is equipped with sanitary facilities, a technical room, a storage room, and a four-bed guest room, while the upper level has four guest rooms sharing a common terrace.
- There are also expandable container houses. The combined dimensions are 363m (width, length, height), and the expanded dimensions are 5.563m (width, length, height). The indoor area expands from 18 square meters to 33 square meters, meeting the living space requirements of different groups of people, whether they are single individuals or families.
