Is a Floor Slab House a Prefabricated House?
A floor slab house does not belong entirely to prefabricated houses; rather, it is a type of house that uses prefabricated floor slabs. The following provides a detailed explanation from three aspects: definition, structural characteristics, and differences from prefabricated houses.

Definition
A floor slab house typically refers to a house that uses prefabricated floor slabs (prefabricated concrete slabs) as the floor structure. Prefabricated floor slabs are concrete slabs pre-made in a factory according to design requirements, featuring standardization and specification. They can improve construction efficiency and ensure the quality and performance of the floor slabs.
Structural Characteristics
The wall materials of floor slab houses are diverse, possibly being brick, concrete, or other materials. Their load-bearing structures are also relatively rich, mostly being brick-concrete structures or frame structures. During construction, the wall and other structures are first constructed on-site according to design requirements. Then, the prefabricated concrete floor slabs from the factory are transported to the construction site using lifting equipment and spliced and installed to form a complete floor structure. This construction method combines the advantages of factory prefabrication and on-site construction, utilizing both the precision and efficiency of factory prefabrication and the flexibility of on-site construction, enabling it to adapt to different construction needs and site conditions.
Differences from Prefabricated Houses
Prefabricated houses generally refer to houses whose main load-bearing components are prefabricated in a factory and then assembled on-site. Most of their structural components, such as walls, columns, and beams, are pre-made in the factory and then transported to the construction site for rapid assembly, with the entire house being built quickly like building blocks. In contrast, although the floor slabs of floor slab houses are prefabricated, other structures such as walls may be constructed on-site, with only some components being prefabricated. There are significant differences in the degree of prefabrication and construction methods compared to fully prefabricated houses. Therefore, floor slab houses cannot be simply equated with prefabricated houses.
