Is the Container House Hot?
If not properly treated, container houses can be quite hot in summer, but through reasonable design and modification, effective thermal insulation can be achieved to keep the interior cool.

Thermal Insulation Principles and Materials
The thermal insulation performance of container houses primarily depends on their structural design and the thermal insulation materials used. The outer anti-corrosion color-coated steel plate can reflect sunlight, reducing heat absorption; the middle layer uses efficient thermal insulation materials such as polyurethane foam boards, effectively blocking heat conduction; the inner fire-resistant gypsum board works in conjunction with the moisture-proof film to control humidity and stabilize temperature. These materials together form an effective thermal insulation barrier, reducing the speed of heat exchange between the interior and exterior.
Actual Perceptual Differences
According to actual tests, in summer at noon, the interior of a container house warms up about 22 minutes slower than the outdoors, and in winter, with the doors and windows closed for 8 hours, the indoor temperature only drops by 1.3℃. This delayed response characteristic makes the indoor temperature more stable, avoiding the discomfort of sudden temperature changes. Additionally, designs such as sandwich panels with aluminum foil reflective layers, adjustable sunshades, and bottom ventilation slots can further enhance thermal insulation effects, making the interior more comfortable.
Optimization Measures
To further improve the thermal insulation performance of container houses, the following measures can be taken:
- Select appropriate thermal insulation materials: Such as polystyrene boards and rock wool boards, which have low thermal conductivity and can effectively block heat transfer.
- Add thermal insulation layers: Add thermal insulation layers on the exterior wall surface or interior walls to form an effective thermal insulation barrier.
- Optimize the design of windows and doors: Use double- or triple-glazed windows to reduce heat leakage; install sealing strips around the edges of windows and doors to improve thermal insulation effects.
- Add temperature control equipment: Such as air conditioners and graphene floor heating systems, to regulate indoor temperature and enhance living comfort.
