Is a Container House Hot for Living?
Whether a container house is hot for living depends on its materials and configuration and cannot be generalized.

If a container house uses materials with good thermal insulation properties and is reasonably configured, it will not be particularly hot for living. For example, a container house with 7.5-centimeter-thick color-steel rock wool panels as its exterior walls has a low thermal conductivity coefficient, which means heat conduction is slow. In the case of high external temperatures in summer, it can effectively block the transfer of external heat into the interior, keeping the internal temperature within a relatively comfortable range. If used in conjunction with air conditioning, it can further effectively cool down and provide a cool living environment for occupants.
However, if the walls of the container house are made of ordinary iron sheets without additional thermal insulation measures, the situation will be quite different. Ordinary iron sheets have strong heat absorption under direct sunlight and will quickly absorb the heat from solar radiation and transfer it into the interior. Without a thermal insulation layer to block heat transfer, the indoor temperature will rise sharply with the increase in external temperature, resulting in a stuffy and unbearable living experience. In hot summers, the interior of such a container house may become extremely hot and unbearable.
In addition, container houses with poor thermal insulation performance may have other problems in summer. For example, due to the high indoor temperature, the operating load of air conditioning and other refrigeration equipment will increase, which will not only increase energy consumption but may also affect the service life of the equipment. Moreover, prolonged exposure to high-temperature environments may also have adverse effects on the health of occupants, such as causing heatstroke and other diseases.
Therefore, when choosing a container house as a living place, full consideration should be given to its materials and configuration, and products with good thermal insulation performance should be selected to ensure a comfortable and cool living environment in summer.
