Is a Container House Cold in Winter?
Admin September 15, 2026
A container house can be cold in winter if it is not properly insulated, but through reasonable design and renovation, its insulation performance can be effectively improved, allowing it to remain warm in winter.

Selection and Use of Insulation Materials
- Common insulation materials: These include polystyrene boards, polyurethane foam boards, and rock wool boards. These materials have low thermal conductivity and good thermal insulation properties, effectively blocking heat transfer and improving the insulation performance of the house.
- Application methods: Insulation materials can be applied to the exterior wall surface or interior walls of the container house to form an insulation layer. For example, installing rock wool boards in the middle of the walls is like putting a 'down jacket' on the house, significantly enhancing insulation.
Optimization of Door and Window Design
- Selection of appropriate glass: Use double or triple-glazed windows, which have low thermal conductivity and good thermal insulation properties, effectively reducing heat loss through the windows.
- Sealing treatment: Install sealing strips around the edges of windows and doors to prevent cold air infiltration and improve insulation.
Detail Handling and Sealing
- Joint and connection treatment: The joints and connections of insulation materials should be sealed with appropriate sealing materials to prevent heat leakage.
- Overall structural tightness: Ensure a good fit between doors, windows, and frames, as well as sealing at corners, to reduce channels for heat loss.
Addition of Temperature Control Equipment
- Air conditioners and electric heaters: Installing air conditioners or electric heaters in the container house can quickly adjust indoor temperature, providing a warm and comfortable living environment.
- New heating systems: For example, using an air-source heat pump combined with an underfloor heating system not only provides stable indoor temperature but also reduces electricity costs and environmental impact.
