Integrated Container House Design

Admin September 17, 2026

Integrated container house design uses containers as basic units, combining and assembling them to form modular architectural forms. It features rapid construction, low cost, and mobility, making it widely applicable in residential, office, and emergency settings.

I. Common Design Forms

  1. Modular Box-Type Houses: These adopt a modular design, prefabricated in factories, with the container as the basic unit. They can be used independently or combined horizontally and vertically to create spacious areas, with a maximum of three stories stacked vertically. The container unit structure is welded from special steel sections into standard components, connected with bolts between containers, ensuring a stable structure and quick, easy installation.
  2. Cold-Resistant Containers: Designed specifically for extreme cold environments, these maintain an indoor temperature of 20℃ in outdoor temperatures ranging from -10℃ to -20℃, and even as low as -40℃, by adding indoor heating measures. They have a sturdy structure and excellent thermal insulation.
  3. ZA Houses and ZM Houses: These are highly prefabricated assembled houses, forming a stable building system through tight connections between steel frames and composite cladding panels. They can be laid out and decorated inside and out according to actual needs, adapting well to the environment, and featuring good corrosion resistance, sealing, and thermal insulation.
  4. Light Steel Modules: These adopt a panel-type modular system, with through-column design ensuring more reasonable structural stress distribution. The light steel integrated wall incorporates a panelized design concept, making installation simple and fast. Depending on the application scenario, full prefabrication in factories with on-site hoisting or semi-prefabrication with on-site assembly can be achieved. They offer advantages such as modular design, earthquake and wind resistance, fire and thermal insulation, and short construction periods, primarily used in apartments, hotels, commercial, and office settings.
  5. Light Steel Villas: These can be used as semi-permanent buildings, with customizable layouts and decoration styles during the design phase. Building materials can be selected according to different climatic regions and construction scenarios, significantly reducing construction periods and minimizing environmental pollution at construction sites compared to traditional villas.
  6. LR Products: These integrate the excellent structural strength of flagship series, requiring no on-site assembly, and offering excellent performance adjustment in different temperature environments and good sound insulation. With precise factory prefabrication processes, excellent thermal insulation and sound insulation, and a design concept that maximizes space utilization and aesthetics, they provide solutions to housing shortages abroad.

II. Creative Design Cases For example, a residence stacked with 21 containers, where the designer stacked the containers and cut them diagonally to create private, complete blocks. The bottom inclined cuts form a mini courtyard, and each floor features multiple leisure outdoor spaces connected to the interior through floor-to-ceiling windows, enhancing the living experience and ensuring outdoor space privacy.
