Installation of Vertical Prefabricated Components for Buildings

Admin September 18, 2026

The installation of vertical prefabricated components for buildings should adhere to the following key points:

1. Hoisting Operation Specifications
During hoisting, adopt a slow lift, rapid rise, and gentle release operation method to avoid component swaying or collision. When conducting a trial hoist, the component should not be lifted more than 0.5 meters above the ground. The hoisting process should involve gradual acceleration, and skipping gears is prohibited to ensure a smooth and controlled hoisting process.

2. Bottom Clearance and Elevation Control
A 20mm clearance should be reserved between the bottom of the vertical component and the floor surface. Adjust the installation elevation using shim plates of varying thicknesses ranging from 1-10mm to ensure the final position of the component meets design requirements. The floor surface should have elevation and position control lines marked in advance to serve as installation references.

3. Comprehensive Inspection Before Hoisting

  • Embedded Lifting Rings: Check that the lifting rings are intact and undamaged, with specifications, models, and positions consistent with the design.
  • Component Integrity: Verify the component number and confirm that the positions, quantities, and external dimensions of reserved pipe holes are correct.
  • Reference Line Confirmation: Ensure that the elevation and position control lines are clearly marked with chalk lines for easy subsequent positioning.

4. Lowering and Precise Positioning

  • Guy Rope Control: When lowering the component, secure guy ropes at the root to prevent rotation. When the component is 1.5 meters from the installation surface, slow down and adjust it to the installation position.
  • Rebar and Grouting Pipe Alignment: The rebar reserved on the floor surface should correspond one-by-one with the grouting pipes of the component. After all are inserted, slowly lower the component.
  • Initial Positioning: When the component is 30cm from the floor surface, installation personnel should assist in gently pushing or using crowbars to make initial adjustments according to the positioning lines.

5. Temporary Fixing and Support Installation

  • Inclined Support Fixing: After the component is basically in place, temporarily fix it with no fewer than two adjustable inclined supports. The angle between the support and the floor surface should be no less than 60°. Ensure the component is vertical before removing the lifting hook.
  • Support Point Location: The upper inclined support point should be at a height of 2/3 to 1/2 of the component's height from the bottom of the slab. The lower support pads should be symmetrically arranged to avoid eccentric loading.

6. Verticality Correction and Measurement
Preliminarily correct the verticality using a plumb bob or spirit level, and fine-tune it by rotating the middle steel tube of the adjustable inclined support. Finally, measure the flatness between components using a 2-meter level and feeler gauge to ensure the verticality deviation is within the allowable range.

7. Application of Auxiliary Devices
Some companies (such as Anhui Hailong Construction Industry Co., Ltd.) have developed prefabricated vertical component installation positioning auxiliary devices, which improve installation efficiency and reduce manual adjustment errors through components such as bases and limit arms. These can be selected based on actual project requirements.

Summary: The installation of vertical prefabricated components for buildings must strictly adhere to operational specifications in hoisting, positioning, fixing, and correction. By combining professional tools with auxiliary devices, construction accuracy and efficiency can be significantly improved, ensuring the structural safety of prefabricated buildings.
