Indoor Simple Portable Toilet

Admin September 24, 2026

You can refer to the following three methods for making an indoor simple portable toilet:

Making with a water storage barrel

First, prepare a water storage barrel and use an angle grinder to split it in half lengthwise. Then, fix universal wheels at the four corners of a wooden board to ensure mobility. Next, use wooden strips and self-tapping screws to fix them on the upper side of the barrel to increase the height. Make an opening on the side of the water storage barrel and install a sponge strip to form a door frame. After that, insert plastic soft boards to form raised walls and place the upper half of the water storage barrel on top of the wooden strips as a roof. Make a hole at the bottom of the barrel and install a drain pipe to form a floor drain. At the same time, make a hole on the side to connect an interface and put a plastic bucket over it as a small water storage device. Finally, install facilities such as a bathroom heater, toilet, and water tank made of water pipes. Connect the drain pipe to the sewage bucket and extend the water pipe to the door as the inlet pipe for the sink.

Making with a water storage tank and a pallet

Fix universal wheels at the four corners of the bottom of a plastic pallet and place a water storage tank (which can be recycled from a garbage station). Use an angle grinder to cut along the marked line at the top of the water storage tank to remove the top. Place another water storage tank with an open top upside down and stack it on the first tank, and fix the outer frame with self-tapping screws. Cut a rectangular opening on the outer frame of the water storage tank as a doorway. Make a hole in the interior floor, insert an elbow and a water pipe, seal the gaps, and then cut off the excess water pipe. Place the toilet in alignment with the drain and fix it with glue. Fix the water pipe at the wall buckle to install a faucet, and use a stainless-steel basin below to make a sink and connect it to the drain pipe. Connect the inlet pipe to the toilet water tank, install a shower hose and bracket, fix a showerhead made of a water pipe, and install a toilet seat. Finally, fix hinges on the frame of the water storage tank to connect a wooden board as a door and install a door handle.

Using a portable commode

For the elderly, pregnant women, and other people with limited mobility, a portable commode with a deep bucket and a handle can be chosen. This commode does not require complex installation. Just place it in a suitable position and it can be used, which is very convenient.
