Indoor Portable Simple Toilet

Admin September 21, 2026

An indoor portable simple toilet is a toilet facility that can be moved as a whole and is convenient for use in specific indoor settings. It comes in various types and can be made in different ways.

Making Use of a Water Storage Tank

Some people make portable toilets using water storage tanks. First, the water storage tank is split in half lengthwise with an angle grinder. Universal wheels are fixed at the four corners of a wooden board for easy mobility. Then, wooden strips and self-tapping screws are used to fix them on the upper side of the tank to increase its height. A doorway is cut on the side of the water storage tank, and sponge strips are installed to form a door frame. Plastic soft boards are embedded to create raised walls. The upper half of the water storage tank is placed on top of the wooden strips as a roof and painted with white waterproof paint to enhance its appearance. A simple door is made by joining honeycomb wooden boards with foam strips. A hole is cut at the bottom of the tank to install a drain pipe, forming a floor drain. Holes are cut on the side and bottom of a plastic bucket to connect direct fittings. The plastic bucket is placed on the roof as a small water storage device. A water pipe is used to make a bath heater, and a three-way fitting is installed to connect a showerhead. A toilet is placed and the water tank is installed and fixed with glass glue. The drain pipe is connected to a sewage tank. A three-way fitting on the outlet pipe is horizontally connected to a water pipe that extends to the doorway as the inlet pipe for a washbasin. A hole is cut on the door to install a fitting. This method of making is relatively low-cost and makes full use of existing materials, but the production process is relatively complex and requires certain hands-on skills and tools.

Portable Commode

There is a type of portable commode that is especially suitable for the elderly and pregnant women at home. It has the characteristic of super-strong load-bearing capacity. Its structure is relatively simple, usually consisting of a commode body, a water tank, and other parts. It is small in size and easy to move, meeting the toilet needs of specific groups of people indoors.

General Information on Portable Toilets

Portable toilets can be moved as a whole and are set up at locations with fixed or temporary needs to provide toilet services for the public and customers. They are suitable for a variety of places such as stations, docks, and tourist attractions, and can also be used in specific indoor settings. They are generally composed of a fecal sewage storage tank (or fecal sewage treatment device), a floor, sanitary ware, walls, washing equipment, a water tank, a roof, and a mobile device. According to their structural forms, they can be divided into single-structure portable toilets and composite-structure portable toilets. According to their mobility methods, they can be divided into hoisting and handling portable toilets, powered and towed portable toilets. According to their sewage treatment methods, they can be divided into water-flushing and non-water-flushing suction portable toilets, circulating water-flushing portable toilets, and dry-packing portable toilets. They have the advantages of being movable, combinable, and easy to transport.
