Indoor Assembled Portable Toilet

Admin September 26, 2026

Indoor assembled portable toilets can be realized through modular design and common materials, with the specific steps as follows:

I. Foundation Structure Construction

The core of a portable toilet is a movable base that needs to balance load-bearing capacity and flexibility. It is recommended to use wooden boards or plastic pallets as the main frame:

  1. If wooden boards are chosen, select solid wooden boards or moisture-proof boards with a thickness of ≥2cm. After cutting them to the required size, install universal wheels at the four corners (those with brake functions are better) to ensure stability during movement and the ability to be fixed.
  2. If plastic pallets (such as logistics pallets) are used, metal universal wheels can be directly fixed at the four bottom corners. The hollow structure of the pallets can be utilized to reduce weight and facilitate the layout of drainage pipelines. Key Point: The base needs to reserve installation holes for functional modules (such as toilets and floor drains) and ensure that the levelness error is ≤2mm to avoid tilting or water leakage during subsequent use.

II. Water Storage and Functional Module Integration

  1. Water Storage System:
    • Cut large-capacity plastic water barrels (such as those with a capacity of over 200L) as the main water storage bodies. Use an angle grinder to cut out inlets and outlets along the marked lines and wrap the cut edges with wooden boards. Fix them with screws to form a closed space.
    • If hot water supply is required, a small electric heater (which must comply with electrical safety standards) can be installed, or it can be connected to an external hot water source.
  2. Drainage System:
    • Mark the drainage hole positions on the base, install PVC elbow drainage pipes, and connect floor drains (it is recommended to choose odor-proof floor drains) at the ends to ensure that sewage can be smoothly discharged into external containers or sewers.
    • The slope of the drainage pipes should be ≥1% to avoid water accumulation.
  3. Shower Function (Optional):
    • Use PVC pipes to splice and make a shower bracket. Drill holes on the surface and connect hoses. Extend them into the interior through valves and tee pipes and fix the showerhead clips.
    • The shower area needs to be waterproofed (such as by laying PVC waterproof cloth) to prevent water stains from penetrating into the base.

III. Privacy and Sealing Treatment

  1. Doors and Frames:
    • Process wooden door panels (with a thickness of ≥1.5cm) and install them on the door frames with hinges. Stick sealing strips at the contact points between the door frames and the walls to reduce odor leakage.
  2. Height Adjustment and Top Sealing:
    • If heightening is required, aluminum-plastic panels can be inserted to extend the walls. Install bucket lids or custom-made wooden boards as roofs at the top. Apply white paint inside to unify the color tone and enhance aesthetics.
  3. Toilet Installation:
    • Fix a newly purchased toilet in the middle hole position of the base. Apply sealing glue (such as silicone glue) around it to prevent leakage. Connect the toilet drain outlet to the base drainage pipe with a rubber hose to ensure sealing.

IV. Material Selection and Tools

  • Materials: Water storage tanks, plastic water barrels, wooden boards, PVC pipes, universal wheels, hinges, sealing glue, angle grinders, electric drills, etc.
  • Tools: Basic hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches) and electric tools (angle grinders, electric drills) are required. Wear protective goggles and gloves during assembly to ensure safety.

Summary: Indoor assembled portable toilets should take modular design as the core. By reasonably planning functional modules such as water storage, drainage, and privacy, and combining common materials and tools, a low-cost and movable sanitation solution can be achieved.
