India's Advanced Prefabricated Housing
India has made significant progress in the field of advanced prefabricated housing, covering various aspects such as technological application, technology promotion, production models, green buildings, and market supply.

In terms of technological application in prefabricated housing, the Indian construction industry has widely adopted advanced technologies. For example, the use of prefabricated hollow floor and wall panels has greatly reduced labor requirements, with only a few dozen people needed to complete a 300-square-meter self-built house. Meanwhile, techniques such as rapid concrete pouring and direct wall panel hoisting have further improved construction efficiency and shortened construction periods.
Regarding the promotion of PEB (Pre-Engineered Building) technology, India is adopting this technology on a large scale. By precisely prefabricating steel components in factories and assembling them on-site with bolts, the construction period for industrial plants can be shortened by 30%–50%, and steel waste can be reduced by over 20%. PEB technology has been widely applied in fields such as warehousing, manufacturing plants, airport terminals, and supporting buildings for data centers, becoming an important force driving the development of industrial construction in India.
In the factory-based production of prefabricated components, Indian companies such as Aurobindo Real Estate and Infrastructure Construction have established prefabrication plants in Hyderabad. The prefabricated components produced are widely used in office buildings and retail projects. This factory-based production model significantly reduces noise and air pollution at construction sites and saves a large amount of hidden energy, aligning with the concept of sustainable development.
In terms of green buildings and sustainable development, construction projects using prefabricated technology are more likely to obtain LEED certification from internationally recognized green building rating systems. For example, the Galaxy Building constructed by Aurobindo using prefabricated technology has received LEED v4 Gold pre-certification, becoming the tallest commercial office building in India built with prefabricated technology and demonstrating the huge potential of prefabricated technology in the field of green buildings.
In terms of market supply and product diversity, the Indian market offers various types of prefabricated housing products, including low-cost prefabricated luxury villas, modular mobile transport container stores, and portable prefabricated homes, meeting the needs of different scenarios and providing strong support for the prosperous development of the Indian prefabricated housing market.
