In-Car Movable Toilet Design

Admin October 13, 2026

In-car movable toilet design is an emergency toilet system tailored for specific scenarios, featuring practicality and innovation.

Design Forms

  • Slide-rail design: This design is adopted in the utility model patent for "vehicle-mounted toilet and vehicle" approved by the National Intellectual Property Administration of China and held by Seres. Normally, it is hidden beneath the driver's and front passenger's seats, not occupying interior space or compromising the aesthetic appeal. With a single press, it can be pulled out for use and pushed back into place afterward. This design is also equipped with a 5L sealed waste collection tank, a negative-pressure odor removal system, constant-temperature heating functionality, and even disposable toilet bags and a foldable privacy curtain, enhancing comfort and convenience during use.
  • Accessory-based design: The vehicle-mounted toilet accessory launched by My Stone Auto can be placed in the central storage compartment. Simply lift the lid and place a toilet seat cover to use it. Essentially, it serves as an emergency accessory, allowing for relatively easy installation and removal.

Core Principles

The core of such designs consists of the toilet body and a set of slide-rail mechanisms. In daily use, the toilet is fully stowed beneath the seat, appearing no different from an ordinary seat. When needed, the toilet is smoothly slid out from the bottom of the seat using the slide-rail structure and pushed back into hiding after use, achieving efficient space utilization and a harmonious appearance.

Practical Significance

In scenarios such as highway traffic jams during holidays, long-distance self-driving in remote areas, nighttime driving, or mountainous routes, in-car movable toilet design effectively addresses the challenge of finding a restroom. It is particularly friendly to elderly individuals with mobility issues, children with limited self-control, and female users with higher privacy requirements. Its positioning is similar to that of a spare tire, first-aid kit, or fire extinguisher, serving as a supplementary solution for specific pain points.

Development Status

Previously, such designs were mostly confined to experimental or individual modification stages and had not truly entered mass production systems. Although similar ideas existed in the patent field, no mature product forms had emerged. However, relevant toilet facilities are already present in high-end long-distance coaches, RVs, camper vans, and various modified vehicles, providing certain references and insights for the further development and popularization of in-car movable toilet design.
