Hunan Mobile Toilet Project

Admin September 21, 2026

The mobile toilet project in Hunan has witnessed rapid development in recent years, with an expanding industrial scale, diverse application scenarios, significant intelligent upgrades, and the initial emergence of regional industrial cluster effects.

Diversified Expansion of Application Scenarios

Traditional tourist attractions and exhibitions remain the primary demand scenarios. In 2024, key attractions such as Juzizhou Scenic Area in Changsha and Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area in Zhangjiajie added over 200 mobile toilets to cope with peak tourist flows. Emerging scenarios are also accelerating their penetration. In rural tourism projects, mobile toilets have become a standard配套 (supporting facility) for homestay clusters. In the field of municipal engineering, the usage rate at temporary work sites such as subway construction and road repairs has increased by 45% year-on-year. The supporting facilities developed for "Fangcang hospitals" during the pandemic have also been incorporated into the industrial service scope.

Significant Trend of Intelligent Upgrades

The industry is transforming from basic equipment to intelligent solutions. Some companies have introduced mobile toilets with IoT functionality, enabling real-time monitoring of usage status and automatic alerts for paper or water shortages via apps. The proportion of eco-friendly products has surged, with those utilizing solar power and biodegradation technology accounting for 68% of the market, a 22 percentage point increase from 2023. In 2025, the Hunan Provincial Standardization Technical Committee for Mobile Toilets was established to promote the formulation of eight local standards, including product dimensions and environmental protection criteria, providing normative support for intelligent development.

Initial Emergence of Regional Industrial Cluster Effects

Two major industrial bases have formed in the province: Changsha and Yueyang. As the provincial capital, Changsha has gathered 12 core manufacturing enterprises, producing over 3,000 mobile toilets of various types annually, with a pronounced industrial agglomeration effect. Yueyang, leveraging its port logistics advantages, has become a distribution hub in northern Hunan. Industry association data shows that in 2024, the revenue of mobile toilet-related enterprises across the province reached 780 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 18%, with the market size expected to exceed 1 billion yuan by 2026.

Key Enterprises Offering Diverse Services

Several enterprises in Hunan are engaged in mobile toilet projects. Changsha Rongdong Environmental Protection Engineering Co., Ltd. specializes in producing eco-friendly toilets for scenic areas and mobile public toilets, including various types such as water-flush direct-discharge toilets and vacuum negative-pressure mobile toilets, and provides customization services. Leikedun offers services including the rental of color-steel plate mobile toilets for construction sites and the lease and sale of plastic single-unit toilets to meet the needs of different scenarios.
